I was lucky to be 14 years old when Rust In Peace came out, the album that many consider to be the best thrash release that has ever seen the light of day. Followed by a couple of very good records, Dave Mustaine and co. spent the next 20 years or so giving us music that ranged from not so impressive to very disappointing (with the exception of Endgame's pleasant surprise). So, what do Megadeth have in store for us in 2016?

Re listened it , title trcak was awesome killer song, just one killer song here, blaze away even 80's hit songs from this band. Rest album was as mega after risk, nothing less or more.

Has anybody noticed a kind of resemblance from the album cover with Maiden's Somewhere in Time?

The futuristic version of the mascot, the pistol in the holster, the city in the background, the flying machine, the cables connecting the holster/weapon to the flying machine ? they don't actually connect in Maiden's, but it looks like it at first glance ?, and the album title's typography.

Four pages of comments and nobody calling out Megadave for his weak vocals. I suppose because fans grew accustomed to his delivery over the years and he's 100 years old now, so he gets a pass. Still, I find them gratingly distracting and the music doesn't do much to make up for it aside from some decent rhythm sections throughout. Too much samey, generic chugging though.

Don't know what happened there, if you asked me 2 months ago this album would have been a solid 8.5, but after listening to it again today, I have to say it's incredibly repetitive and quite boring. Mustaine's vocals are pretty bad, the riffs are pretty much the same for the entirety of the album and the bass is not very hearable. Even after all of tht, it's still a solid 7 thanks to kiko loureiro being such an amazing player and the instrumental "conquer or die", which I thoroughly love. There are some pretty good songs here and there, the album isn't that bad, but a very overrated one still.

I actually really liked this comeback. The dark riffs are nice and Kiko's solos are tremendous. Evil never dies

I had checked out on Megadeth a long time before this album and never cared to listen. Luckily I did now as this is a strong record and one of the best since Youthanasia.
