I have to say that I feel very proud that Hail Spirit Noir come from my small home country. This band rocked the metal scene in 2012 by releasing arguably the best debut of that year and managed to live up to the hype with their sophomore effort two years later. A few months ago they gifted us with another great offering, reflecting the band members' massive amount of talent and ambition.

First impression: Really dig the new almost cabaret-esque atmosphere, a band that was already weird to begin with just got way weirder. First song reminds me instantly of Tribulation.I think it matures with "Lost in Satan's Charm" which makes me think that this band's Highest strenghts ls without a doubt the creativity and skill to craft longer songs. Theoharris sings a lot cleaner than in the previous two.

Will go further on the review, without a doubt, but so far so good, HSN delivers....again...

Overall more inclined to the intricacies and extended jam type nature of Oi Magoi than the sound of the debut. Not necessarily a bad thing though. The band's advance comments that this album would explore their aggressive side more is also accurate. I hear WAY more of a BM presence this time around, perhaps more than ever before, actually. It's still the prog side of things that dominates though and thankfully the heightened focus on the extreme doesn't compromise any of the band's trippy, quirky sound. Excellent release. I just wish there were a few other tracks more like "I Mean You Harm" on it, as that's probably the most Pneuma-esque material on here, but that's a pretty minor complaint.

I am the Magician and the Exorcist. I am the axle of the wheel, and the cube in the circle. “Come unto me” is a foolish word: for it is I that go.

Dunno if I'd say best yet, but it's definitely better than Oi Magoi

I did not liked it as much as their previous releases. Actually, only the first track was enjoyable for me.

China was a neat
It's a good album, just not a great metal album. And I think I like it even less than the last one because of that.
