Too. Many. Songs. Kaleidoscope just had 5 songs and it was really good. I really doubt that having this many songs is necessary. Would have too much break in the flow.

Written by 3rdWorld on 24.09.2016 at 16:46 But Kaleidoscope had two long epics, this will have a lot of shorter songs since it's a double concept album. The two discs are both a little over 50 minutes, so just half an hour longer than Kaleidoscope.

I know Morse keeps recycling his vocal lines (and his choruses always ends in the same delay and a second interval either upwards or downwards), but man - if he thinks I won't notice the blatant copying of the chorus in Freedom Song from the "Ride the Lightning" section of Kaleidoscope by hiding it behind a country rhythm, he's delusional. Good album though.

Giving this another chance, Neal's long albums have always been a bit of a chore to listen to. I'm still on cd 1, I wonder if I can/will listen to the whole album in one sitting.
