Damn, it's good. Pallbearer have finally found a voice of their own. Less doom than before and more progressive. Gone are the blatant nods to Warning.

Spirit Adrift kept me really entertained last year so I expect this one to do the same.

I think it was a good idea to get more proggy, but it also made it a lil boring. Good album that could be better.

A bit of a grower for me. Like the first two tracks immediately, with Thorns being stuck in my head for days. The other longer songs have taken a lot longer to digest and appreciate. Overall, good album.

What an awesome album, it's proggy doom metal at its best. A Plea For Understanding is reason enough to check this.

Yeah, I'm considering it as a vote abuse.

Guitar tone is a little too plastic for me which is a bummer, same with the weird filter on the thin-sounding vocals, it just doesn't seem to fit well. Kinda disappointing overall.

Utterly 'heartless' and boring album... easily their weakest. At least the title fits. No emotion, no punch, no distinct catchy instrumental sections... just meandering music that really goes nowhere. I think the last song was the best overall.

I really like this one, might be the album I end up voting for in the 2017 best doom album category (I've yet to listen to some of the nominated albums though). I listened to Foundations Of Burden some time ago and while I liked it, I remember thinking and feeling that it wasn't that great, maybe a 7.5 on a good day, this one is an easy 8 or perhaps even an 8.5 or a 9. Truly inspired quality stuff.
