Biography

Endimion was formed at the beginning of 2005, with the intention of making doom / death Metal, influenced by the English school of the early 90's. Initially formed by the brothers Tomás, Matías and Victor Ibáñez, as well as César Muñoz and Fabián Alarcón, in 2006 the demo Rehersal 1206 is released, with which the band performs on the local extreme scene.

During 2007, the split Liturgia Para Mil Emociones Muertas was recorded and published, with the one man band from La Serena Magna Veritas. After this recording, César Muñoz left the band and instead Francisco Campos joined, with whom work begins on the first album, Canción Desde La Voz Primera which is published in 2010 under the Russian label Endless Winter.

Between 2015 the recording of a new studio work begins, in which the myth of Endymion and Selene is approached from a reinterpretation of the band, recounting through its lyrics in Spanish, the nightmare to which Endymion is subjected by the goddess of the moon, who condemns him to a conscious dream that culminates with the goddess stripped of her divinity and Endymion freed from her condition. Musically, Latmus proposes an evolution towards more progressive sounds, maintaining an atmosphere related to traditional doom / death metal, with rock influences. The album is published in 2019 through Australis Records, receiving positive criticism from the national and international specialized media.

Between 2015 and 2018, Tomás, Víctor and Fabián left the band for personal reasons, entering in their place, the musicians Tannus Anguita, Alejandro Valdés and Víctor Véjar. With this stable line-up, the band begins to work on new material, assuming in this new stage, a critical stance towards the various social issues that afflict the country. As part of this process, in October 2019 the single Gritos Del Presente was published, alluding to the current social movement in Chile and, recently, the single Seremos La Voz was released, related to the constituent process it would face the country. This last song is accompanied by a video clip made by the band, with the participation of some guests from the local rock scene. In both songs, a musical evolution towards faster rhythms is perceived, linked to death and groove metal, with more dynamism between segments, associated with the compositional style of progressive rock, much more than can be heard in the previous album Latmus.

Currently, the band is still working on new material for an upcoming album, which is planned to be recorded during the summer of 2021.
