Biography

Working six nights a week in the Tenerife bar/restaurant scene has led Soundchaser to “well known” status. Fans already come by the dozens to hear classic rock, modern rock and the band’s original material.

If you are fortunate enough to catch this hard-working band you may hear a playlist that ranges from Lynyrd Skynyrd and Deep Purple to Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation. On the Soundchaser preferred list are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Dream Theater, RAGE, Death, Megadeth, Cynic, Pain of Salvation, Opeth, Helloween, Machine Head, The Police, Rush and about 2,000 more.

Band members Marcos Rodriguez: vocals, guitars; Jose Miguel Irazoqui: bass, backing vocals and Gilberto ”Fri” Finol: drums, backing vocals, have put together an impressive collection of albums, both cover tunes and original material.

Their work includes: “Line in” - classic rock tunes from the ‘70s and ‘80s; a second album of cover tunes, “Reborn” - includes ‘90s rock music; “Follow Me” presents the band’s first original material. About 2500 copies of the four-track EP were sold without a record deal or distribution deal; “Live III,” a collection of cover tunes with a much heavier feel; “A New Awakening” with 11 original songs. Three of the tunes are from “Follow Me” re-recorded for the new collection.

As if that wasn’t enough for this hard-working trio, Soundchaser produced a live DVD (2011) with the intriguing title “Soundtallica.” The limited edition tribute to Metallica (200 copies) included a CD of the show. An additional cover-tunes album was released in 2011, entitled “This is the new cover cd…”

Current plans for Soundchaser include recording a new album with the title “Changes Part I: The Betrayed.”
“This album will be the first part of an interesting conceptual trilogy about the changes in human relations in all aspects of the life: love, hate, happiness, sadness, lies, truths, and so on...in three words: our world nowadays,” Rodriguez said.

The Betrayed will be divided into four acts of three or four songs each, for a total of 12 to 14 tracks. The final number is not certain.
