Biography

The name (EchO) comes from the oreads nymph eco of greek mythology, famous for being in love with Narcissus, and the parentheses indicate the sound wave that propagates.

The band was formed in the first days of October 2007, near Brescia (IT), thanks to the idea of Antonio Cantarin and Simone Mutolo, with the aim to play Doom Metal with different influences, in the first place psychedelic. The original line-up of the band was composed by Antonio Cantarin (vocals), Simone Mutolo (piano and keyboards), Mauro Ragnoli (guitar) and Paolo Copeta (drums). Then, in March 2008, guitar player Simone Saccheri joins the band.

In October 2008 they release a self-produced demo entitled "Omnivoid", and in the same month the band starts its live activity.
The band had so far the honor to share stage with bands such as Agalloch, Dornenreich, Esoteric, Daylight Dies, Forgotten Tomb, If These Trees Could Talk, and many others.

On October 9th 2010 they release a self produced promo, containing three tracks in a limited edition of 200 copies. This promo was released as a preview of the first full-length album, recorded later, in November of the same year, at the Priory Recording Studios in Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, UK) and CMAT Studios in Birmingham (UK) with Greg Chandler of Esoteric as producer, engineer and guest vocals on the track "Sounds from out of Space".

Different bass players joined and left the band, but sometimes when you search something around the world, what you're looking for is right in your backyard, this is how Agostino Bellini became the bass player of (EchO) in April 2011.

On August 2011 they sign a contract with the Russian label BadMoodMan Music / Solitude Productions, and finally, on November 11th 2011, the debut album "Devoid of Illusions" was released and worldwide distributed, receiving positive feedback by the international press and conquering ever more fans throughout the world.

After various shows and tours in countries like Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Croatia, in March 2015 Antonio decided to leave the band for personal reasons and work commitments, and after some research Fabio Urietti joined the band as new vocalist.

On May 23rd 2016 the second album entitled "Head First Into Shadows" has been released, always by the Russian label BadMoodMan Music/Solitude Productions. The new album contains the collaboration of two guest vocals: Daniel Droste from Ahab for the track "Beneath This Lake" and Jani Ala-Hukkala from Callisto for the song "Gone".
