This used to be the place to go, but now it sucks. They changed the sound system about 8 years ago from a phenomenal one to a crappy one, so the only good sound is on the main floor or right at the edge of the first balcony. Also, the venue has three levels, but it's general admission, so they sell tickets based on the overall capacity rather than per floor and they don't do anything about crowd control, so the main floor is always about 50% over capacity, making it extremely uncomfortable. It's just not what it used to be, which is a shame, because the location is great, the valet service is awesome, and they actually get some pretty decent metal shows from time to time.

I will second what Soren said. Gone downhill, probably because it got bought by Disney!!!

At one point MachineHead was banned from playing there and had to reschedule some tour dates. They supposedly, "promote violence," and this isn't a part of the Disney/HoB "family values" or some bullshit like that.

That's been a few years ago, but that really soured me on the place. Too bad, have seen some great metal shows in the ancient history of late 1990's!!
