Metallica & Deftones - Slated For First Ever Rock In Rio USA
Deftones - Streaming Previously Unreleased Track
One year ago, Deftones bassist Chi Cheng passed away after a prolonged coma caused by a car accident back in 2008. The band has now posted online a previously unreleased track called "Smile" in the first anniversary of his passing. You can stream the track on the YouTube clip below. The song is thought to be from the band's shelved album Eros, which was originally put aside after Cheng's tragic accident.

Deftones - Writing New Album, Announce Texas Shows
Deftones will be headlining a string of Texas shows on May 27th, 28th, and 30th. Additionally, they will be participating in KFMX's Big Purple Party festival on May 25th. In terms of new material, Deftones' frontman Chino Moreno has confirmed in an interview with Soundwave TV that the writing sessions have begun for their new album. The follow-up to Koi No Yokan is in the works!

Deftones - Bassist Chi Cheng Passes Away
In a sad twist of events, Deftones' bassist Chi Cheng passed away at the hospital last night due to a heart attack after showing apparent signs of improvement in his recovery following a terrible car accident back in 2008 which left him with brain damage, then falling into a coma. He was 42.

Ozzfest Japan 2013 - Tool, Deftones And Others Confirmed

Deftones - Reveal New Album Title, Announce US Fall Headline Tour
Deftones have announced that their seventh studio album and follow-up to Diamond Eyes will be called Koi No Yokan, which is set for release on November 13th. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with Nick Raskulinecz (Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters, Rush) who also produced Diamond Eyes. The band will also embark on a Fall headline tour with special guests Scars On Broadway as well. The presale tickets will be available this coming Tuesday. The dates are available below.

This LP is a collection of classic Deftones' cover tracks, pressed together on limited edition vinyl for the first time ever. Only 3K of these will be produced. The set spans a wide range of genres, including covers from artists The Cure, Drive Like Jehu, The Cars, The Smiths, Lynryd Skynrd and Duran Duran.
