Vocalist Simone Simons, of Dutch symphonic metal unit Epica, has posted via her official Instagram page, that she is currently in studio, recording vocals for apparently what seems to be a new Epica material. More to follow. The group has released their latest album, The Holographic Principle, back in 2016.

Swiss hard rock veterans Gotthard have entered the studio to begin recording their new album, the follow-up to 2017' effort Silver. A late 2019 release is tentatively expected. The band has released a video message from the studio for the attendees of the upcoming Metal Italia Festival, where the band will perform on Sunday, June 2nd. This will be also their first live appearance in 2019.

Italy's Stormlord are ready to return on the scene with the long awaited sixth studio album, entitled Far. Consisting of ten new songs, the album is going to be released on May 24th, 2019 via Scarlet Records. It was recorded between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 by Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre) and Riccardo Studer, while Simone Mularoni took care of the mastering duties.

Cave In have announced plans to release a new album late this spring. Featuring the final recordings of late bassist Caleb Scofield, the album is titled Final Transmission and will hit streets on June 7th via Hydra Head Records. Final Transmission was mixed by Andrew Schneider, mastered by James Plotkin, and features artwork/design by Aaron Turner. A new track, titled "All Illusion", can be also streamed below. Notably, the song is Caleb Scofield's sole lyrical contribution to the release.

Born Of Osiris guitarist Lee McKinney had a handful of valuable items stolen on Monday night when the home he and his wife share was burglarized. According to McKinney, who is currently on tour with the band, one of the intruders was armed with a knife. Among the valuables taken were five guitars and four guns.
