Eddie is not for the faint-hearted? Lithuanian authorities have banned poster advertisements for Iron Maiden's world tour because the band's trademark Eddie the Head mascot may frighten children. The British heavy metal group is currently touring Europe on their The Book Of Souls world tour and is due to arrive in the Baltic country for a show in Kaunas's 18,000-capacity ?algiris Arena later this month. The poster was deemed scary enough that it has been banned in Lithuania.

Iron Maiden's 747 Ed Force One was badly damaged in a runway accident at a Santiago, Chile airport. It was tethered to a tow truck to be taken for refuelling prior to flying over the Andes to Cordoba. On moving the steering pin that is part of the mechanism that connects the ground tug to the aircraft seemingly fell out. On making a turn the aircraft had no steering and collided with the ground tug badly damaging the undercarriage, two of the aircrafts engines and injuring two ground tug operators, both of whom have been taken to hospital. The flight engineers were on site evaluating the damage, but their initial report is that the engines have suffered large damage and will require an extended period of maintenance and possibly two new engines. Despite this, it shouldn't affect their concert schedule including the 2 shows in Cordoba and Buenos Aires.

Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden will make their highly anticipated first-ever visit to China in April on The Book Of Souls World Tour, playing at Beijing LeSports Center on April 24th and Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena on April 26th. UK's Download Festival 2016 brought the big guns and announced their three big headliners for 2016. The triple-threat bill includes the headliners for next year's Download Festival: Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Rammstein. Rammstein will headline the Friday night. Black Sabbath will return to Donington to headline the Saturday night. Their appearance at Download Festival will form part of their worldwide The End tour, as they sign off their 50-year career. Iron Maiden will headline the Sunday night of Download Festival 2016. The British metal gods will headline Castle Donington for the sixth time on June 12th, 2016, and they'll be arriving at the festival site in true Maiden style.

The Book Of Souls tour is hitting the States in February, March and April. In fact, Iron Maiden will open the World Tour in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on the 24th of February 2016, playing nine shows in total, finishing up at The Forum, LA on April 15th. Canadian fans please note that your dates will be announced very soon as well. This tour happens, of course, in support of the heavy metallers new double album, The Book Of Souls.
