Life Of Agony - Announce Tour Dates
Brooklyn-based Life Of Agony recently signed a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records. They are currently hard at work on their new album and Napalm Records debut A Place Where There's No More Pain, which is due in early 2017. Unfortunately last week drummer Sal Abruscato was injured causing LOA to cancel their upcoming European tour dates, but fear not. Sal will be fully recovered soon and the band will be returning to Europe this November. The European jaunt kicks off November 13th in Vienna, Austria and runs through December 10th in Aalborg, Denmark. Life Of Agony will also be playing two special shows in the Northeast this fall.

Life Of Agony - Vocalist Undergoes Sex Change
Hot news in the "That's So Metal" department where Keith Caputo, the somewhat eccentric frontman of alternative metal band Life Of Agony from here on out wants to be addressed as Keith Mina Caputo frontwoman of Wife Of Agony... River sure runs red now.
*Several bad puns later*
Keith Caputo has revealed that he has begun "transitioning" into life as a woman and has begun to refer to himself as "her" on his official website. The singer, who has adopted the name "Keith Mina Caputo", wrote on his Twitter account, "Male to female transsexuals like me are the women who give up male privilege for femininity! Threaten the patriarchy!" He also responded to a question from a fan about the demise of Life Of Agony by writing, "Life Of Agony has already gone into isolation and it's got nothing to do with me transitioning ."
In a June 5, 2011 interview with "DeadDave's Internet Radio Show", Caputo stated: "I live a completely, totally different lifestyle. I'm a completely different human being, as you guys probably know. I have a very different path in life. I'm not living life as a man anymore and stuff. So, yeah, my life is completely different, but music will always be... music is definitely my driving force."
Caputo previously used cross-dressing images of himself in the artwork for his 2008 solo album A Fondness For Hometown Scars and dedicated the CD to androgynous people.
In a July 11 tweet, Caputo said, "my cuzins even get on me for being transgender, callin me the dumbest names, but it's all in good fun they'll really kill 4 me." The vocalist also re-tweeted a story from Metal Insider claiming the singer was due to get a sex change. He replied with the message, "Thx for being sweet & respectful.. Deeply appreciate it. FYI, I'm keeping my penis!"
During his appearance on "DeadDave's Internet Radio Show", Caputo spoke about Life Of Agony's future plans, stating, "We realize that Life Of Agony has become an extremely nostalgic act and the music that used to not be dated, in our eyes, is dated, and the whole situation is dated. It's a nostalgia, and we don't want to take advantage of that nostalgia anymore, nor do we wanna take advantage of the fans.
We've got three shows this year and it's probably gonna be the last shows that we do for a very long time. In fact, we just may call it quits. Because we feel like we set out to do what we needed to collectively. We're very honest people, we love each other dearly, but we just can't get it on; we can't turn each other on in the studio. We hit a brick wall together, and it ain't cool. So there's probably not gonna be a new album, nor a new single... So people better start getting used to Broken Valley, because that's probably the last piece of music that they'll hear from the band."

Dan Nelson - New Material Online Feat. Life Of Agony, Arsis Members
Ever wondered what happened to ex-Anthrax singer Dan Nelson?
For one, he's the new singer of a band called BlackGates, apparently. But more importantly, he recently recorded some material together with Life Of Agony guitarist Joey Z., Arsis guitarist James Malone and Aunt Hildegard drummer Crock LaRock.
Comments Nelson: "This is not a band, but a bunch of songs written with some friends that we recorded in my garage studio."
The songs are called "Burden's Crown", "Troll", "You", "Task At Hand", "New Damnation" and "New Found Noose", and are all available for streaming at this location. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Life Of Agony - New Label, Belgium Show To Be Filmed For Live CD/DVD
I Scream Records is very excited and proud to welcome Life Of Agony to the family.
On Saturday April 3rd 2010, I Scream Records will be recording and filming Life Of Agony's performance at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium - the second show of their exclusive European "20 Years Strong" tour. In late 2009 the band performed their debut album River Runs Red in its entirety during a few exclusive, sold out, US shows and now, after popular demand, they're also heading over to Europe to perform a set built around this amazing, legendary album.
The release of this 20 Years Strong live album, which will also include a free bonus DVD of the complete show at the Ancienne Belgique, exclusive footage and much more, is set for early this Summer.
"We're really excited to capture this moment in time," LOA bassist, Alan Robert, said in a statement. "Twenty years, man, that's no joke! If you would've asked us when we were kids growin' up in Brooklyn if we thought that we'd ever make something this important to people around the world, we probably would've laughed in your face. But here we are, still selling out shows after all this time and turning people's tragedy into hope. Somehow, through the music, we've helped a lot of folks out there. And that's what's always been most important to us."
I Scream's Laurens Kusters adds: "We're very excited about this collaboration. This will be an amazing release, recorded at the Ancienne Belgique, one of the most exclusive European clubs, in Brussels Belgium, the city where I Scream Records was founded in 1994."
Life Of Agony "20 Years Strong" - European Tour 2010:
April 2nd - Effenaar in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (sold out)
April 3rd - Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium

Life Of Agony - To Release Live DVD
US Alternative Metal band Life Of Agony have issued the following update:
"We are very excited to share with you that there is a new Life Of Agony live concert DVD in the works. The footage was filmed at European festivals during the last tour in June 2007. The DVD shows the band performing its classic songs from the "River Runs Red", "Ugly" and "Soul Searching Sun" records. Filmed with multi-camera angles in front of crowds as large as 40,000 people, the DVD looks amazing. Bonus material includes rare backstage tour clips and more. Release date information will be available in the coming months."
Life Of Agony spent most of 2006 and early 2007 on a break after completing its successful touring cycle for the 2005 Epic Records release, "Broken Valley". The band is currently without a record deal, having parted ways with Epic in 2005. In the meantime, lead singer Keith Caputo released a solo album, titled "Heart's Blood on Your Dawn", and has a new CD on the way. Guitarist Joey Z has opened a recording studio in Brooklyn, NY called Method of Groove Studio and has successfully produced and mixed Brand New Sin's latest release for Century Media. Joey has also teamed up with Peter Steele (Type O Negative) to reform Carnivore. Drummer Sal Abruscato has been actively building custom motorcycles and recently won an award for his latest creation
