Vreid - N. American Tour With Kampfar, Necronomicon

Norwegian black metal quartet Vreid will embark on a North American headlining tour, dubbed The Black Path Of America Tour 2011. The tour will take off in late August. Support on the trek will come from Norwegian black/folk metal trio Kampfar and Canadian death metallers Necronomicon. Read more to get the list of all confirmed dates.

Commented Vreid bassist Hváll: "It is with great joy we can announce our first headlining tour in North America. The Black Path Of America tour is packed with ten US and six Canadian shows. We did our first full North America tour in 2009 on the Heathen Fest, and the reaction we got was overwhelming. We had amazing shows in Montreal, Cleveland and San Francisco - to name just a few - and are glad to see all those cities plus many more on the list for our upcoming tour. Our latest album, V, is doing fantastic, and has become a monumental release for us. We can't wait to return to the Wild West to unleash songs new and old with our own production. Joining us on this tour are our good Norwegian friends of the legendary Kampfar and Necronomicon from Canada. It's a killer lineup, and we hope to see as many of you as possible at the shows."

Megadeth - Announce Plans For Gigantour 2012

In a new video interview with Kevin and Ian of Metal Shop (Seattle's KISW 99.9 FM), Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine confirms the return of Gigantour, his traveling metal festival, "next year".

Dave Mustaine comments: "We just started booking that last week. We've got three of the four bands booked and confirmed, but we're gonna wait until the whole package is set before we say it. But I'm pretty excited about that. I always thought the Gigantour is a really cool vibe, because it's about the guitar playing. Now, these bands that are gonna be part of Gigantour (next) year aren't shredding bands by any means, but I think they're cool just the same. There's really not a lot of great bands left to go out and tour (with) that are guitar playing bands. Most people got afraid of doing guitar solos ? probably because they couldn't."

You can watch the full interview over here.

Den Saakaldte - Sign With Agonia Records

Norwegian black metallers Den Saakaldte, who recently parted ways with Pulverised Records to get a new label closer to their home country, have now inked a deal with Agonia Records from Poland.

Den Saakaldte guitarist Sykelig commented on the events as follows: "Many dramatic changes occured during the last one year in Den Saakaldte's reality. When Niklas Kvarforth decided no longer to continue with the band, many things passed from our minds... even just dropping the whole damn thing off.

After the band discussing and coming to the conclusion that all the members wanted Den Saakaldte to continue being active as a way of artistic expression but also as in a lifestyle attitude for us, we decided that certain things had to be put down and start all over again.

Agonia Records that has been following our ways and sharing our ideas on how things should be, gave us the opportunity to built the foundations for Kapittel II: Faen I Helvete on solid ground. Filip showed to us with quite devotion, the how much he wanted the band in Agonia Records' roster. We are looking forward to start with the recordings and we are even more excited to hear soundscapes, having now Mr Hægeland as frontman.

The future looks dark ...and quite much pissed off."
