Devin Townsend - Album Artwork Revealed

Devin Townsend has just revealed the cover artwork for the upcoming album Ghost.

Devin previously stated about the Ghost art: "The macro shot was influenced by some shots someone on Twitter showed me. But a great photographer named Brian Kibbons did the whole album, and Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth) did the layout."

According to Devin, "Ghost is the mellowest (by far) and prettiest record I've done so far" with a "very wonderful vibe." It will be released with "the shitstorm that is Deconstruction simultaneously" ? probably in June through InsideOut Music.

Enforcer - Guitarist Quits The Band

Guitarist Adam Zaars (also in Tribulation) has quit Swedish traditional heavy metal band Enforcer.

Adam Zaars issued the following statement: "After 5 years, 2 albums and almost 200 gigs in the band I have decided to tread new paths in life hence leaving Enforcer behind. I made this decision in January and told the band in China, on the way home from a truly memorable visit in South Korea and Japan. A good ending I figured. The decision was inevitable, yet of course a difficult one to make. I would like to thank the rest of the guys in the band for everything we've been through, the trials and the tribulations and the simply good times. I would also like to thank all the people that have helped us through the years. I want to wish Enforcer all the best for the future!"

The band added the following: "All shows and tours will however continue as planned. Even though it is a great loss for the band we must emphasize that this will not affect our future plans of world domination even perceptibly. The band will continue, head on without speed limit as planned without any change of style, musically or stylewise. From now on, Enforcer will continue as a four piece band where Olof will play both guitar and handle the vocal duties. Enforcer would also like to thank Adam for his time in the band and for all his contributions that made Enforcer what we are."

Vader - New Bassist And Drummer Announced

Vader have recently parted ways with former Christ Agony bassist Tomasz "Reyash" Rejek. Due to "family matters," also drummer Pawel "Paul" Jaroszewicz will leave the band. However, he'll still be laying down tracks for the band's new album, Welcome To The Morbid Reich, and taking part in the group's already confirmed concerts in summer.

Mariusz Kmiołek from Massive Music Management released the following statement on behalf of the band: "New musicians, some changes and, hopefully, new great news - hence the new opening in the band. The beginning of the year was marked with Peter's decision about line-up reshuffle - he thanked Reyash for two-years' cooperation. The band and Reyash parted their ways because the latter recently failed on many fields. The main reason for this news is also his statement about reasons for leaving the band which are not true.

Here's Peter's explanation on the situation: "Hail to all Vadermaniax!!! I decided to write this - a little bit untimely - news to correct Reyash's official stance on leaving the band on Blabbermouth. I decided to thank Reyash for over two-year's cooperation in January 2011 and it was solely my decision. The decision was made on his recent behaviour only and definitely not due to his "personal reasons". Reyash is a great mate but this isn't enough to be the part of Vader. What's funny is that my expectations are really not that high as it might seem from the personal changes in the band throughout the recent years. Vader is appreciated by you just because of us keeping the style, sincerity and quality regardless the so-called public opinion. Reyash knew that he was to play till the end of the season (promotion of Necropolis) and his staying in the band depended exclusively on his work during the past two years. I can't understand his trying to give a good account of himself in this situation, the more so because it is insincere. Nevertheless, me and all people contributing to the presence of Vader Commando wish Reyash success, all the best and satisfaction from his work! One should keep good memories only. We're also glad that after Reyash's official statement appeared, we were contacted by lots of bass players willing to join the band, most of them from abroad. However, the decision about who will replace Tomek was made a few weeks ago. We invited Hal (Hermh, Dead Infection, Abused Majesty). This line-up will be seen on stage since April."

Saturnus - Update From The Band

Danish melodic doom metal band Saturnus have recently parted ways with Firebox Records and are currently seeking a new label home. The band has also added two new members, namely Henrik Glass on drums and Mattias Svensson as the band's new rhythm guitarist.

Vocalist Thomas A.G. Jensen commented as follows: "Saturnus has been through a major transition due to a necessary line-up change arising from different views on how things needed to be run. This put the brakes on the bands progression for so long that eventually something had to break or otherwise we would inevitably have split up. We love playing live whenever we can and right now we want to do it more than ever to follow on and raise our profile once again to echo the success of our last album, Veronica Decides To Die, and previous efforts.

The new line-up is just perfect. All the things I have been looking for in musicians has been delivered perfectly; the creativity, the lust for playing live, the understanding of the universe of Saturnus and the way to compose is just perfect. I could not wish for better.

Leaving Firebox Records was necessary for Saturnus and even with one contractual album left to be fulfilled, both parties amicably
decided to annul the contract we had and go our separate ways. So now the future lies open for Saturnus. We need a record label to fully get the ship back out to sea again, and believe me we are hungry like never before."

Between October 2010 and February 2011, Saturnus completed a four-song demo containing the tracks "The Litany Of Rain", "A Father's Providence", "Wind Torn" and "Between" (working title). The recording was mixed and mastered by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Blind Guardian).

We can't wait to get back in action and present these songs to you all."
