Cloudscape - Part Ways With Guitarist, New Album Title

Cloudscape is working on a fourth album to be entitled New Era. Here's an update from the band:

"As some of you might have noticed it has been quite silent around Cloudscape for some time. We have updated a few minor news in order to send you all some life-signs. Nonetheless as mentioned, Cloudscape is still fully alive and hungrier than ever. But, 2009 and parts of 2010 have been quite struggling years mainly because of member changes and stuff which have prevented us from moving on. Roger Landin and Haynes Pherson left Cloudscape in early 2009 because of personal issues and they were shortly replaced by Fredrik Joakimsson (drums) and Håkan Nyander (bass). Fredrik and Håkan have filled the band with new fuel and inspiration and the song-writing for our fourth album is going really damn well and all of us are very excited about the new songs.

We have a few more songs left to compose in order to have more than enough songs to the next album (New Era) but, we are quite sure we will be finished with the song-writing process during early fall. As soon as we are finished with the new songs we will start to check out the music business and contact different labels for a possible co-operation and release of New Era. We will also make sure to find good booking agencies that have the right connections to organize more live shows and tours. Nonetheless we will try to do a few more shows during 2010 so, stay tuned and keep yourself up to date in this site. The next scheduled live show will be in Helsingborg, Sweden at the venue called The Tivoli as special guest to FullForce on July 10. We will have something very special included in our setlist as well... don't miss this event.

Unfortunately we have a sad announcement as well. Björn Eliasson (guitar) have also decided to leave Cloudscape. His reasons for this is just like Roger and Haynes... personal reasons. He will continue to compose music in one way or another but, he will not be a part of Cloudscape anymore. So, all of us would like to say the following to Björn:

"THANKS a million for all the years we've been partners in crime in Cloudscape. You will certainly be missed and we really wish the best for you and your musical endeavours in the future to come. Cheers mate!"

We are currently trying out a few replacements for Björn. Soon we will be able to announce the new axeman...stay tuned!

So, as you see, some good news and some sad but, Cloudscape will continue as before but, with new blood in the band and considering the past months we decided to name our fourth album New Era which talks for itself."

Equilibrium - New Album Details Announced

Equilibrium just launched the "Countdown To Recreation": "From now we will post a cool surprise every week until the day of release of Rekreatur on June 18. For a start the album cover art and the tracklist have been posted.

The cover has been designed by Alev who already did the design for Unbesiegt. Furthermore we also uploaded a brand new song. Since the songs on Rekreatur are way more diverse and varied than ever, it wasn't an easy decision which song to post first. We chose "Die Affeninsel" ("The Monkey Island") to begin with."

Andreas Völkl (who wrote the lyrics) shares a bit more info about the song: "Die Affeninsel" is about an adventure in a land far away where three tests must be passed to fullfil a fraternity pledging. It's been inspired by an old pirate tale that some gamers of you might know."

You can check out the new song at MySpace.

Rekreatur cover art] tracklist:

01. In Heiligen Hallen
02. Der Ewige Sieg
03. Verbrannte Erde
04. Die Affeninsel
05. Der Wassermann
06. Aus Ferner Zeit
07. Fahrtwind
08. Wenn Erdreich Bricht
09. Kurzes Epos

Ozzy Osbourne - More Album Details Revealed

Original news, posted on 03.04.2010

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that the name of his new album is Scream, and that the album's first single will make its worldwide debut in a US TV drama.

Scream will be released in July and will be preceded by debut single "Let Me Hear You Scream". The song will make its debut in the show CSI:NY on 14 April (in the US) during a prison riot scene. The show's executive producer Peter Lenkov, who also co-wrote the screenplay for the episode, admits Osbourne's new tune was perfect for scenes in which show regular Hill Harper is trapped in a prison during a riot.

Lenkov says, "We were looking for something high energy and irreverent to sell the madness of a prison riot. We immediately responded to the new Osbourne tune. The song exceeded our expectations and brought exactly the right tone to the episode."

Ozzy revealed: "When I heard they were going to use "Let Me Hear You Scream" for a prison riot scene, I thought, 'Well, now that's some thing I know about.'" (Presumably referring to his time spent in prison when he was 18).

The original album title, Soul Sucka, was canned when it turned out that it was a pretty rubbish name for a rock record. Scream will feature the debut of Ozzy's new guitarist Gus G and will be the follow up to 2007's Black Rain.

Ozzy88]

UPDATE (thanks to Fastolphbolger)

Ozzy Osbourne will release Scream ? his first album in almost three years and 10th studio album overall ? June 15 via Epic Records. Produced by Ozzy and Kevin Churko, both of whom did the same honors for Ozzy's 2007 worldwide million-seller Black Rain, the album will feature the first single "Let Me Hear You Scream."

The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer recorded most of Scream at his Los Angeles home studio, The Bunker, and co-wrote all the songs, primarily with Churko. Notably, the album marks the first appearance of Ozzy's new guitar player, Gus G.

In addition to "Let Me Hear You Scream," the album's confirmed tracks are: "Diggin Me Down", "Let It Die", "Soul Sucker", "Fearless", "I Want It All", "Time", "Crucify" and "I Love You All."

Ozzy will also embark on an 18-month world tour (dates TBA) in support of Scream, with news about Ozzfest to emerge next week.

The DVD will be released in spring 2011 (more release details TBA) through Nuclear Blast Records and Marquee Inc. in Japan and will, next to the show in Milan, contain another show, recorded 2009 during the Sonata Arctica Open Air Festival in their hometown Kemi, Finland. And of course there will be massive bonus material such as "The Making Of", interviews, and plenty of video footage the band recorded the last few years during their career on tour.

Textures - Part Ways With Keyboardist

Official press release

Keyboard player Richard Rietdijk has left Textures to pursue other interests. In a statement to the band's fans he had to say the following:

Dear fans,

After 10 awesome years playing synths in the band, I've decided to leave Textures. There are other projects (music and other) I've been wanting to do for a while now and currently the time and effort it takes to be in the band is in the way of me achieving those.

I want to thank all you fans for your continued support and making this journey as awesome as it has been. I got the rare opportunity to travel and meet the most awesome people from all over the world and appreciate the sustained contacts online. I hope all of you will continue supporting this hardworking band. They earn every bit of it. Their next album will blow your socks off, believe me!

To the guys (including the crew) I'd like to say it's been an absolute honor and a privilege to have been in this band, seeing and helping it grow from this small local band to the phenomenon it is now. It will take a while to get used to not doing this with you guys anymore, and I'll cherish the friendship we have forever. I wish you guys well in all your future endeavors. You're going to be just fine.

This decade has been one hell of a ride! Thank You!

For people wanting to keep up with my projects either follow me on my Twitter or on my homepage.

The band commented on Richard's departure:

After 10 very great years, it is sadly finally so... our synths & samples-maestro is leaving... We will miss Richard a lot, especially his laugh and his awesome humour..

After Eric left a few months ago, of course we began to think more about our future times...and everything we do along the way. Things change... all the time! For everyone.

We know Richard will have a great time doing the other things he really loves, but meanwhile our tourbus is going to keep hitting the road...we are unstoppable!

So Textures will live on of course, we are in the middle of writing a new album...and at the same time we are keeping our eyes open for a new keyboard player! So keep 'em coming folks!! The band is contemplating how to fill Richard's place within Textures.

In other news the band have announced their first appearances with the band's new front man Daniel de Jongh. The band will perform at Fortarock taking place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands on the 3rd of July and Sikelian Hell on the 24th of July in Palermo, Italy.

Swashbuckle - Part Ways With Drummer, Replacement Announced

Official press release

New Jersey's very own pirate thrashers Swashbuckle recently parted ways with drummer Captain Crashride. A new replacement has already been found with a guy called Bootsmann Collins!

"Ahoy scallywags and asshats! There's been a bit of a change in the 'buckle rank as of late. We have recently parted ways with drummer Captain Crashride. He brought us five years of service and utter shenanigans, and we wish him nothing but the best in combating that extreme outbreak of scurvy. With that being said, we now have a new drummer stepping up to fill the boots and more so to speak, and that man be none other than Bootsmann Collins. He's a fucking killer drummer and quite the retarded pirate. So we couldn't be more stoked to have him aboard. So please give him a warm welcome with yar internet shit-talk and utter disgust for everything piratical. We wouldn't have it any other way. Eat a bowl of fuck!

Love, Admiral Nobeard.

P.S. Check out the bootsmann's other band as well - We All Have Day Jobs MySpace].

Check out the video introduction right here.

Swashbuckle's new album Crime Always Pays is set to be unleashed in summer 2010!
