Warrant Issued For Former Warrant Singer

Here's your portion of celebrity gossip of the week. Celebrity "news" zine Thirty Mile Zone has reported that a warrant was issued for former Warrant singer Jani Lane. Oh, the irony.

The warrent was issued last week, after Jani Lane failed to show up to two court appearances connected to his 2009 DUI conviction. TMZ reports: "We're told Lane was scheduled to appear in court on February 23 to show the judge he's completed his alcohol classes and community service - but he never showed. The court date was rescheduled for February 24... but Lane missed that one too.

We spoke to Lane's lawyer, who says the singer has been in the hospital and won't be able to make it to court until next week. As for why he's in the hospital ... no word."

Diablo - Update From The Band

Diablo vocalist/guitarist Rainer Nygård has posted the following update concerning the band's upcoming endeavours:

"Late autumn last year we thought that we needed some time off from rock 'n' roll business. It was a good choice because now that our mental and physical batteries are full again, it's easier to think about future. So in the beginning of this year we started to work with new material on a more serious basis. At the moment we've got enough ideas and material for me to say that we will release a new Diablo album in the future. Date is open of course but when the stars are on the right position we will inform you guys.

Most of the stuff is of course brand new but we will also give a shot for couple of strong older riff's which did not open in last producing sessions the way we wanted them to. At this point it's hard to say what the next album is going to be like, but fast enough for sure, ha ha! I also think that we use keyboards more open mindedly than in previous albums. Sounds a bit suspicious, eh? Don't worry, it will be still uncompromising heavy metal. I have some ideas about the "big theme" and graphics too. For me especially those two are the most important things in starting a new project seriously.

Last night I copied to this laptop all ideas related to lyrics and production etc. from my mobile. Suddenly I got a bad vibe that my phone might face an accident in the near future and I could end up loosing all ideas from 2007-2010. Some might say I am superstitious, eh!!??

We have promised to do only two gigs during the summer of 2010, and rest of the year is left open on purpose. If some interesting offers come in sigh, we might reconsider but otherwise we're concentrating on writing new material."

Operatika - New Album Update

US symphonic power metal outfit Operatika have issued the following update on their blog:

"Our new album is coming along great. 90% of the material has been written, and pre-production has been done for half of the album. Get ready for a much heavier, faster and more diverse sound this time around! We can't wait to show you what we've got cookin'! As one of the kick ass tracks on the album will be a cover of Dio's legendary tune "We Rock". We are also looking for graphic designers and artists for the new album's artwork. If you've got something you'd like to share with us, please send it our way."

Threat Signal - European Tour Cancellation

Threat Signal is stepping out of the European tour supporting (hed) p.e. Here's the band's statement:

"We sincerely regret to inform you that our 2010 European tour dates with (hed) p.e. and Atilla have been officially canceled. The tour will still go on; however, we will not be performing on it. We had worked very hard to make this tour even considerably possible, but due to financial difficulties we've had to abandon ship. We're back thousands more dollars than we originally expected, and we've been struggling ever since to find affordable means of transportation. We cannot justify or even find the amount of money needed to make this tour possible for us anymore...

Our hearts are broken, this would have been Threat Signal's first European Tour. On the upside, we've had an amazing North American run with Epica and Blackguard and are looking forward to confirmed dates in Canada. The more people that show their support locally will ultimately help us land these tours overseas. Even if you can't make it out to a show you can show your TS support by purchasing some new merchandise at Kill The 8 Online Merch Store, and music from iTunes and Amazon.

Once again, we apologize a million times over and over to our friends and fans in Europe who expected us on the tour. We're currently working extremely hard with our agents and record label to find another tour in Europe before the year is over. We promise to make this up to those who were looking forward to seeing us live."

1349 - New Album Details

Original news, posted on 23.02.2010

Official press release

Norwegian black metallers 1349 have announced the title and release date of their new album. The album, entitled Demonoir, will be released by Indie Recordings throughout Europe on April 26, and by Prosthetic Records in North America on April 27.

For the band's fifth full-length release, 1349 decided to suck out the fiercest and most potent energies from every single member and surroundings, channeling it into songs that are pulsating with uncanny atmospheres, rawness and nerve shattering intensity. The whole process of getting the material on record was like one long, exhausting black magic summoning that could not be allowed to go wrong.

Demonoir is without a shadow of a doubt 1349's darkest, most sinister and brutal work to date, and in this case it comes to mean that the band has gone from the utterly extreme to the genre-expanding and mind-boggling. Black Metal cannot, and will never be the same.

Demonoir will be available in North America as a digipack CD and a limited edition 12" picture disc LP.

UPDATE

Norwegian metallers 1349 will release their forthcoming album, Demonoir, on April 26 in Europe via Indie Recordings and one day later in North America through Prosthetic Records.

08. Pandemonium War Bells
09. Tunnel V
