Novembers Doom - Enter Studio, Begin Work On New Album

On Friday January 16th, NOVEMBERS DOOM will enter recording studio "Belle City Sound" to begin recording their 7th full length CD, to be titled "Into Night's Requiem Infernal". Tracking duties will be handled by Chris Djuricic (Engineer and Novembers Doom bassist), and the mixing of the disc by Dan Swano at Unisound. The band comments:

"We're using the same Recording / Mixing formula we've used on "The Pale Haunt Departure" and "The Novella Reservoir". In our opinion, the combination of Djuricic and Swano creates the perfect sound for us, and we've received nothing but stellar reviews of sound quality from this combination in the past.

"Every band hypes their new material, and says it's the best they've done, and the hardest and the heaviest... You can judge that for yourself in time. What we can say is that this is the first time going into a recording the entire band feels confident and believes the material will please fans of the band, as well as turn many new heads in our direction. It's dark, aggressive, and melodic, and compliments the last three releases."

The cover artwork can be viewed here

Tracklisting for Into Night's Requiem Infernal:

01. Into Night's Requiem Infernal
02. Eulogy for the Living Lost
03. Empathy's Greed
04. The Fifth Day of March
05. Lazarus Regret
06. I Hurt Those I Adore
07. The Harlots Lie
08. When Desperation Fills the Void

Novembers Doom is:

Paul Kuhr - Vocals
Larry Roberts - Guitar
Vito Marchese - Guitar
Chris Djuricic - Bass

Metallica - To Be Inducted Into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announced its 2009 Inductees, one of them being Metallica. On April 4, 2009, the Induction Ceremony will take place in Cleveland for the first time since 1997. The 2009 Induction Ceremony will be broadcast live on Fuse TV.

According to a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame press release, Metallica is the most successful heavy metal band of the past quarter centry. Metallica's line-up has primarily consisted of drummer Lars Ulrich, rhythm guitarist, vocalist James Hetfield, and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, as well as current bass player Robert Trujillo. Longtime bassists for the band, the late Cliff Burton, and Jason Newsted, are also being inducted. Metallica's early releases included fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed them as one of the "big four" of the thrash metal subgenre alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The band earned a growing fan base in the underground music community and critical acclaim, with the 1986 release "Master of Puppets" described as one of the most influential and "heavy" thrash metal albums. The band achieved substantial commercial success with its self-titled 1991 album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. With this release the band expanded its musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience.

The 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer inductees were chosen by the 600 voters of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. Artists are eligible for inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twenty-five years after their first recording is released.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors the legendary performers, producers, songwriters, disc jockeys and others who have made rock and roll the force that it is in our culture. For over two decades, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has been nominating and electing those figures, and honoring them at an annual ceremony that has become one of the most celebrated events of the year, and certainly one of the hottest tickets in rock.

God Dethroned - Announce New Guitarist

Dutch metallers God Dethroned have issued the following update:

"You guys already knew that Roel is back in the band after 8 years of absence. Again we have a new band member in the ranks of God Dethroned. Already somewhere in 2008 it became clear that Isaac and the band would follow their own seperate paths again. Everything for our own private reasons, so we said goodbye as friends. Then we decided to record the new album as a 3 piece and look for a new guitar player later.

A few weeks ago we auditioned Susan Gerl (Murder Syndicate) and she proved to be the right person for the band. Professional attitude and a 100% metalhead, exactly what we were looking for. You can see her live in action at our first show of the year in Den Bosch (Holland) on March 21.

Last but not least, the new album "Passiondale" is finished ! I would describe it as a fast, brutal & epic soundtrack to a war movie. More news soon.

Cheers !
God Dethroned."

A member of the Klonosphere, a group of French metal bands featuring Klone, Hacride, Mistaken Element and many other, Trepalium are not afraid to cross the boundaries and bring metal to a new dimension of diversity, technicality and energy - just like their friends from Gojira, with whom they are about to tour once again.

"XIII", Trepalium's third album, will be released in February in France, Benelux and Switzerland only. But those of you fellow Europeans who live by the French borders should definitely come and check the band when they're on tour with Gojira!"

Lord Belial - Announce Indefinite Hiatus

Taken straight from the band's website, Lord Belial issued the following statement:

"January 2009; Lord Belial has quit all their activities. All future gigs are cancelled. We would like to thank all fans, bands we have played with, labels, organizers and everyone involved in the band for the past 17 years!

The main reason for this is the hearing problem (tinnitus) that has grown into a quite big problem for Micke Backelin the last years... The other members in the band were not forced to put an end to the band but instead they mutually agreed that finding another drummer was not a solution for the future. Anyhow, if Micke's hearing will be at least a little bit recovered after a break from music and especially live appearances for some time, we really hope that we can continue where we ended.

We will not comment or discuss this in emails etc."

Belphegor - Hard At Work On New Material

Brachial metal outfit Belphegor are in the final stages of the writing process for their upcoming, as of yet untitled album, the follow up to 2008's "Bondage Goat Zombie".

Posted by Helmuth on the official site: "Yeah, brothers and sisters, currently we're working on nine sound collages. We started directly in April 2008 after the "Bondage Goat Zombie" release, to create the new compositions/arrangements for the eight Werk, 6sikk6 songs basically completely finished. Words can't really describe how enthusiastic and motivated we are, to get into the studio and record this monster, it feels great to be creative again. Nefastus will be responsible for the drums on that album, he also blasted on "Pestapokalypse VI". He is an old friend to the Belphegor family. We rehearse day and night since December to make it as tight and monumental as possible, stay tuned demons... hell awaits!"

The highly anticipated album is scheduled for a worldwide release date of October 2nd 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records. More news on that soon, later on we will reveal the title of the album, track names and images.
