Nevermore - Guitarist Launches Solo Project

According to Century Media, one of metal's most talented shredders, Jeff Loomis, of Nevermore fame will further prove his undeniable skills with his first solo project, which is set for a fall release. The ambitious offering is an all instrumental effort and is destined to shed some much deserved spotlight on the genre's most notable, yet unsung, guitar player.

Loomis states: "Hi everyone. I just wanted to give you all an update on the solo project. I entered Robert Lang studios on March 22nd with producer Neil Kernon (Nevermore) and drummer Mark Arrington. Mark completed the drums for 10 tracks in about three and a half days. He did some incredible drum work that I know will bring this record to a higher level than I expected. Mark and I worked before back in 1993-94 when he played half the songs on our debut CD. Being able to do this entire recording with Neil is really amazing as well. We've done some great work in the past, but being able to focus on an entire instrumental record is going to be great. Rhythm guitars will be tracked next. I'll keep everyone informed on the progress as we track for the next month."

Kreator - Album Update, Live Clip Online

Guitarist/vocalist Mille Petrozza of German thrashers Kreator has sent in the following massage:

"A high-quality updated version of our VHS classics 'Live In East Berlin' and 'Hallucinative Comas' will be released on DVD for the first time ever! We're really excited to hear your reactions on this! We've put a lot of hard work, sweat and energy into this monster!"

"Other than that, we're spending most of our time in the rehearsal room these days to prepare the new album! We have a five-track demo and two more songs written. The writing really smooth, the new songs are made for a live situation and they all kill! No compromise but sheer thrash metal brutality! So be prepared ? January 2009 will see the release of the next album, followed by an extensive world tour!"

The full message can be found at this location.

In other news, MTV's Headbanger's Blog has posted a clip of Kreator's "Pleasure To Kill" - taken from their new DVD 'At The Pulse Of Kapitulation - Live in East Berlin 1990' - in-stores now via SPV. The video can be seen here.

Visceral Bleeding - Working On New Material

Brutal Metallers Visceral Bleeding have posted the following news on their MySpace:

"We thought it was time to give all you guys some news to what's going on in the V.B camp:

After the tour last year with Deicide we all felt that we needed a break from the band and because of that we only did a couple of shows during the rest of 2007. But now after a well needed rest we have regained our strength and we've now started writing material for a fourth album. As of now we only have a few riffs here and there but we have a wellformed plan for the next album and we're all very excited to start working on this. So that's that..

Also, we've put up a thread in our forum Link] you should check out. We're looking for someone who would like to help us give our myspace page a well needed face lift. So if you're interested in helping us either reply to the thread in the forum or send us an email in here with links to other myspace pages that you've done so we can see your work.

That's about it for now.."
