It was recorded and filmed in France on the last stop of a tour to promote the band’s fifth album, The Absolute Universe. Filmed by Paul Green and mixed by longtime collaborator Rich Mouser, this set will be available as a Special Edition 3CD+Blu-ray Digipak (incl. 5.1 surround sound) & as a Gatefold 180g 4LP release. Both feature artwork by Thomas Ewerhard and photos by Nidhal Marzouk.

Transatlantic are pleased to announce tour dates for North America and Europe to take place in 2022. Booked shows will be in support of the group's latest record, The Absolute Universe, released earlier this year in multiple versions. The North American part kicks off April 15th in Glenside, PA and concludes with performances at 'Morsefest 2022' and 'Cruise To The Edge'. Meanwhile, the European dates take place in July, starting with the 'ARTmania Festival' in Romania.

Transatlantic - the Progressive Rock Supergroup featuring Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy, Marillion's Pete Trewavas, The Flower Kings' Roine Stolt and Neal Morse (Ex-Spock's Beard) - will release their long-awaited third album in October 2009.

"The Whirlwind" is a 77-minute piece of music that is sure to satisfy the band's legions of fans that have patiently waited almost the entire decade for the reunion of these 4 musicians.

"The Whirlwind" will be available in two formats: a regular edition single CD of the entire 77 minute Epic as well as a 2-CD special edition containing a bonus disc with 8 newly recorded studio tracks (4 new Transatlantic compositions and 4 cover songs).

Transatlantic's "The Whirlwind" is currently scheduled for the following release dates:
