Arch Enemy - To Enter Studio In February

Finland's HardcoreSounds.net recently conducted an interview with Arch Enemy drummer Daniel Erlandsson. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

HardcoreSounds.net: You have had the chance to tour almost everywhere. Which show has been the most memorable to you so far?

Daniel: "We have done so many shows so it's quite hard but quite recently we visited Mexico and we did two shows for the first time there. Mexico City was the second show and that was one of the best shows I have ever done."

HS: Why was it so special? Where there a lot of audience?

Daniel: "We played to a full house. We played for like something in between 2,500-3,000 people and we had an amazing crowd response. The whole place was jumping all the time. I was blown away."

HS: And maybe next year we will hear new material from you guys?

Daniel: "Definitely. That's the plan too. We will start recording the new album in February and hopefully we will get it released sometime in the summer or fall of next year. We have already started writing music and we have tons of ideas."

HS: Do you have any finished songs yet?

Daniel: "We have a lot of ideas which loosely fit together so we are gonna start making songs really soon instead of just jamming with riffs. Making an album is like a big puzzle where you try to add all the pieces into the puzzle while songs."

HS: Where do you see the band in five years?

Daniel: "That's really a difficult question. If you judge Arch Enemy from the last five years from 2001 to this day the band has progressed with every album they have made, became bigger and bigger. If that continues we are going to be pretty big in 2011 and that's what I really wish."

Symphony X - To Record New Album In July

Posted under the news section on the band's official website by Jax:

"Just spoke to MJR & got caught up on things. He reports that they will start recording in the beginning of July; they're currently finishing up one song and putting final touches on a couple of others. Mike said that since writing has taken this long, they've chosen to fine tune the songs before entering the studio; they've put a lot of time into pre-production on this one."

Furia - Keyboard Player Leaves

Furia and Season of Mist are sad to announce that Mehdi Khadouj (keyboards & backing vocals) will leave the band just after the last three shows scheduled.

Mehdi wishes to focus exclusively on his band Beyon-D-Lusion, in which he plays the guitar. We all wish him good luck for the future, but please note he will stay close to FURIA, and will probably appear on stage with the band from time to time.

Mehdi won't be replaced, since Furia's most recent songs are all about power and guitars, and the keyboards will take a smaller part in the band's future.

Dark Lunacy - Half Disbanded

Dark Lunacy inform that Bajkal, drums and Imer, bass, left the band for personal reasons. Enomys: "It is a hard blow and I find it hard to believe, but we will keep on with our projects. We will carry "The Diarist" throughout Italy and the world. Two substitutes will help us in our live concerts and then, after the band finds a new steadiness we will start to write new stuff. We count on our strengths to go on and most of all we count and trust on the support and the enthusiasm of our fans who have never abandoned us."

Into Eternity - Finish Recording New Album

Canadian progressive death metallers Into Eternity have posted the following update:

"Things are going well these days in the Into Eternity camp. The recording of our fourth album was recently completed at the end of May. Now we are looking forward to Andy Sneap putting all of his talent into mixing the new disc. That will take place around June 23/06. The band is excited for everyone to hear the new material.

Right now Mattias Norén is working on the CD packaging. I've seen the cover and it looks really amazing. Mattias always does a great job. Last week we finished a photo shoot with Cortney Bodnar. The pics turned out well and now it's up to Mattias to bring every thing to life.

We've been listening to a rough mix of the songs that the studio gave us. So far, I think it is a mix between Dead Or Dreaming and Buried In Oblivion. For this album we kept some things a bit more stripped down. Now we won't have 5 vocal harmonies going at once. The band decided that we want to sound more like we do live, so we stuck to 2 part vocal harmonies. It still sounds killer though and I'm sure people will dig the new melodies. Stu did a great job singing on this album. He has 5 different voices that he can change back and forth from. Wait to you hear some of the notes he hits!"
