Antimatter - new album details

ANTIMATTER THIRD STUDIO ALBUM
From The End Records website:
"Recording and mixing is now complete for the English half of Antimatters as yet untitled 3rd album. Mick recorded 4 tracks in mid July ( A Portrait Of The Young Man As An Artsit, Legions, The Weight Of The World and Epitaph ) choosing to abandon all electronica and produce an all-natural session, complete with live drums and violins. As the album will essentially be an England vs Ireland production ( or Liverpool vs Dublin ), recording for Duncans half will take place at a later date in Eire ( possibly Sept or Oct 04 ) , featuring guest musicians from that area. Duncan has already produced an early graphic design that will likely become the albums artwork".

Quiet Riot - Randy Rhoads unreleased track

On Kevin Dubrow webpage you could listen to and download an unreleased track featuring Randy Rhoads.

"This song titled "Come And Gone" was recorded live in the studio in early 1975. It has never been released and by listening you can tell that even then at 17 years old Randy Rhoads had great potential. We had a manager that had accsess to free studio time so we regularly went in and recorded. Randy was so much fun to work with, was very serious about music and very serious about having fun. Enjoy!!"

Arena new live album in October

ARENA: "Live & Life", release: October 4th
Verglas will be releasing a double live album, "Live & Life", made up of recordings from the Contagion tour. It seemed a waste not to do something with the various footage they had left over from so many excellent dates! The pressing will be strictly limited, and will also include a special 'collectors DVD' featuring an 'on stage and off stage' documentary about Arena on tour.

Moonspell news

A NEW VIDEO
A new video of the band, entitled "I'll see you in my dreams", could be downloaded from their official website.

FUTURE DVD
"We are also in transit to define and start working more seriously on our first DVD production. The DVD will be called Lunar Still and the first sketch of the contents is that we will divide the DVD in four main features:
- Moonspell live at Katowice, Poland (2004, Antidote tour)
- Moonspell live at everywhere (selected cuts from 1993 up to 2004)
- All video clips including the I will see you in my dreams unreleased zombie video
- Moonspell documentary ( a filmed biography of the band, including interviews with the band, past members, fictions and realities about them)
Some of the contents and special participations have yet to be announced but we can assure you that the DVD won't be out this year but early 2005".

NEW ALBUM
"All that can be said now is purely speculative expect that we are working on new songs and have so far produced a demo with three of them for internal use only. This demo allowed us to see the good in the direction we are taking and allowed us also to find out more about the present energies. By working on it we have found out important things like concept and even probably the album title which will make things go faster and stronger on the composition. We will be working also with Waldemar Sorychta (Wolf, Irreligious, Sin) on an earlier stage this time and hopefully we will record and release next year as we are so looking forward to".

Porcupine Tree new album update

Recording and mixing of the new Porcupine Tree album is now effectively complete. As previously announced 14 new songs have been recorded, and only the task of selecting, sequencing and mastering the final running order remains (at least 3 or 4 songs will not make the album and will be held over for issue elsewhere). A 5.1 mix should also be completed in time for a simultaneous release. The as yet untitled album will be worldwide release by Lava/Warners in January.

"In Absentia" award
The multichannel mix of Porcupine Tree's "In Absentia" was recently awarded a Surround Music Award (SMA) for the best surround mix (non-orchestral) of 2004. The awards, held in Los Angeles, recognize the most outstanding surround releases of the year; the award committee is a panel of expert judges that include personnel from Sound & Vision, Pro Sound News, Widescreen Review, Surround Professional, NARAS, USA Today, Highfidelityreview.com, and Los Angeles-based radio station KCRW.

Firebox records restructuring

Kostas Panagiotou, the member of the funeral-doom metal band Pantheist, posted yesterday (September the 16th) an interesting message on the doom-metal.com site. Here it is:

"Firebox Records has established a new sub-label 'Firedoom Music' to separate
their catalogue into more coherent sections. This is mostly done in order to
give artists on both labels the distribution and promotion they deserve.

The basic differences between the labels are:

FIREBOX RECORDS - The flagship of the company. Under the 'Firebox Records'
name the label will be releasing more "mainstream oriented" albums with full
promotional support.
Most of these bands will also gig and tour regularly.
Bands: Swallow The Sun, Total Devastation, Grave Flowers, Shadow Cut, The Eternal etc.
New signing: Fall of The Leafe (Finland)

FIREDOOM MUSIC - The finest of the underground (doom) metal. Under this
name the label will be releasing the more underground-oriented bands with
promotional support that is more geared towards that area. Bands: Aarni, Mar De Grises, Umbra Nihil, Until Death Overtakes Me, Woods of Belial, Tyranny.
New signing: Forest of Shadows (Sweden)".
