Civilization One - Lose Three Band Members

Civilization One original members, Chitral "Chity" Somapala (vocals) and Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (bass) have issued the following statement:

"We are sad to announce that we parted ways with Christian Münzner (guitars), Björn Daigger (guitars) and Holger Rodammer (drums).

With the exception of the very first Civilization One concert at Progpower UK, this line-up has played all the shows following the release of our first album "Revolution Rising". We were looking forward to recording the second album "Calling The Gods" together. However, during the last months and for various reasons, it has proven more and more difficult working all together. In the end, we thought it was best to go on our seperate ways. There are definitely no hard feelings on our side and so we wish Chris, Björn and Holly all the best in their future projects.

As for Civilization One, obviously the schedule for the following months has to be adjusted. We're very sorry that we are forced to cancel the two remaining shows for "Revolution Rising" in France (Rockalies festival in St Martin de Fontenay) and in Germany (Power of metal festival in Paderborn). The recording of "Calling The gods" will also be delayed, until we figure who is going to handle the vacant positions in the band. But please be sure that "Calling The gods" will come out and will more than meet the expectations following the critical success of our debut album.

Civilization One released their first album "Revolution Rising", produced by Markus Teske, in 2007 on Metal Heaven Records."

Devildriver - New Album On The Way

US metallers Devildriver have issued the following update:

"As you all know, DevilDriver has been laying low over the past couple of months... so we wanted to give you a head's up on what has been going on over the summer of 2008 up until now.

Upon returning from Europe in July, the band has been hard at work writing the fourth DevilDriver record... as of yet untitled. I have been back and forth between NY and Santa Barbara and L.A. writing the record, tracking demos at Mike's house and spending time with my loved ones. We currently have around 14 songs in the pot that we are working with and will have 2 or 3 more finished before we embark on our final run of "The Last Kind Words" touring cycle.

Yes... it will sound like DevilDriver... a bigger, stronger DevilDriver, and listeners will receive a record which will capture DD doing what we do best. Record producer and recording location will be decided in these next upcoming weeks and we will keep you posted when a decision has been made. So please join us on our upcoming US headliner with Snot, Straight Line Stitch and Rosengaurd starting October 15th. You can buy me a beer."

Circle II Circle - Replace Guitarist

Circle II Circle have posted the following update:

"It is with great pleasure that we can now announce that guitarist Bill Hudson (known from Power Quest, Cellador and The Supremacy a.o.) has joined Circle II Circle.

Circle II Circle commented: "We're sad about parting ways with Evan, but the addition of Bill into the band is gonna keep us going strong. We start our North American tour with Jon Oliva's Pain and Manticora September 20."

Bill Hudson had this to say about the situation: "I'm really stoked about being a part of Circle II Circle! I've been a fan of Zak since high school. We met last year when I played ProgPower USA and became great friends. Then, a few months later I met Mitch (Paul Michael Stewart) at the Nightmare Metal Festival in Florida and we, too, became friends right there. It's almost like this whole thing was meant to happen!" When asked about the upcoming tour with Manticora and JOP, he said, "It'll be great to see Zak Stevens and Jon Oliva on the same stage again, and I'm truly honored that I'll be a part of it!"

We hope that you, the fans, will welcome Bill with open arms, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on our upcoming US-tour."

Suidakra - New Album Update

Suidakra have issued the following update:

"Good news abounds in the SuidAkrA camp, so we'll drop the small talk and get to the facts! First item of business: the new album. We'll enter Gernhart Studios in November to record the new SuidAkrA album, "Crógacht" (Yes, that's the title; now try to pronounce it?)
We promised you a surprise about the new record, so here it is: we're happy to announce that our dear friend Kris Verwimp will not only be in charge of designing first-class album art, but is also arranging first-class lyrical concepts and song texts! We'll go into more details about the concept and artwork in the near future, but for now we can announce the song titles for "Crógacht":

Conlaoch
Isle Of Skye
Scáthach
Feats Of War
Shattering Swords
Ár Nasc Fola
Gilded Oars
Baile's Strand

As the titles suggest, you can expect a decent Irish influence on the new record, so fans of folk metal can rest easy. Fans of SuidAkrA's harder tunes must not fear; "Crógacht" will kick your asses as hard as usual, if not harder. The worldwide release is scheduled for March of next year through Wacken Records / SPV."

Avulsed - Working On New Material

Avulsed have issued the following update:

"After having participated in the killer 2nd Death Fast Open Air in Germany and headlined the 8th Metal Mania Open Air in Slovenia together with Exodus & Impaled Nazarene, Avulsed is ready for one more festival (as headliners as well) to close the summer festivals. This one is the 6th FilthRock Festival in Germany on 20th of September.

The band has just finished the recording of a brand new track entitled "Breaking Hymens" that will be included in the upcoming 10-CD mega-compilation box-set devoted exclusively to Spanish extreme Metal bands. This compilation will include over 150 bands and will be released in November '08 through Xtreem Music. This new track is an exclusive recording for this compilation although it'll be re-recorded for their upcoming 5th album. You can actually hear a rough pre-mixed and unmastered version at the band's official MySpace.

Regarding Avulsed's new album, for the first time we can reveal the title and album cover!! It's gonna be called "Nullo (The Pleasure Of Self-Mutilation)" and the artwork is one of the most bizarre, disturbing and even blaspheme covers the band ever got!! The responsible for this gory piece of art is the american artist Mike Hrubovcak who also worked for bands like Grave, Monstrosity, Cattle Decapitation, Mortician, XXX Maniak and tons of others.

Recording sessions for the new album are starting on September 6th and will take at least 2 months to be completed, mixed and mastered, so a release date should be scheduled by the very end of '08 or early '09, again through slovak label Metal Age Prod. Some of the new song titles are the aforementioned" Breaking Hymens", "She's Hot Tonight (In My Oven)", "Chestblood"... and the style of the new compositions follow the band's trademarked style brutal and heavy yet catchy and somewhat melodic Death Metal with an even heavier sound this time. Just listen by to the new track and judge by yourself!!"
