Gorefest - European Tour Cancelled!
Gorefest posted the following message on their official website:
"Due to severe problems at the side of German agency Bruchstein Records, we have been forced to cancel our entire European tour. We are extremely disappointed with the way things have been dealt with, and as such have lost all faith in the whole operation. Rest assured we're working very hard to try and salvage as much from this wreckage as possible, and hope to do most of these shows properly at a later time. Our sincere apologies to everyone who has been waiting for so long to see us, and now have to wait even longer. We'd also like to apologize to Master, Luna Field, Ressurecturis, and Kragens. Just like you guys, we were all geared up and ready to go. Decisions like these are not easily made but as much as we wanted to do this, things have been turning rapidly into a farce. As we refuse to be toyed with, there really was no other choice.
We hope we can rely on everyone's patience, so we can lay out some frightfully heavy Metal for ya as soon as we get things back on track!"

Black Lotus - News From The Label
- "Skyclad join the front lines of Black Lotus records"
During their long and illustrious career, that spans more than a decade and saw them releasing such classics as "Jonah's Ark", "Prince of the Poverty Line" and "Irrational Anthems" the "originators of folk metal" have produced no less than 14 full length releases as well as various other compilations, ep's and singles. Combining elements of traditional metal, in the Vein of bands like Thin Lizzy and folk music (fiddles etc) with though provoking lyrics, the band came up with a totally unique sound that won the hearts of many fans around the world. Their live performances are legendary and even though the band was faced some serious personnel shuffles in the near past, their latest album "A semblance of normality" was all the proof any one would need, to show that the bands chemistry was intact and that their style remained unscathed by all the changes! There are plans to record an album in the next few months to be released before the end of this year. This will be preceded by an EP entitle "Jig-a-Jig", in April and a European tour to take place in February and April. More news as it becomes available.

Chris Caffery is entering the studio in New York City on February 8th to begin the recording of his next CD "Pins and Needles". The CD is going to be released world-wide in October 2006. Some of the song titles are "The Temple", "S.A.D", "WORMS", "Mettle Eastern", "The Sign of The Crossed" and the title track "Pins and Needles". According to Chris "This time around I am going to musically punch everyone in the face for about an hour...no concept, single CD, just straight forward blistering metal agression! A few twists and turns, but would you expect anything different?" - On February 23rd Thanatos will enter the Excess Studios in Rotterdam once again to record their fifth full length album. Tentatively entitled 'Justified Genocide' the album will feature 9 or 10 songs including ,,They Feed On Fear", ,,The Devil's Triangle", ,,March Of The Infidels", ,,Upwards Spritual Evolution" and ,,The Netherworld". The album will probably be released at the end of the Summer/early Fall 2006 on Black Lotus Records. The artwork will be handled by German artist Timo Wuerz.

Celtic Frost - New Album Announced
Century Media Records has set a May 30 North American release date for Celtic Frost's long-awaited new album, "Monotheist" (one day earlier internationally).
Celtic Frost's first album in 13 years, "Monotheist" features 11 songs all produced by the band with Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain).

Nightwish - Update About New Album
A message by Tuomas Holopainen was posted at Nightwish's official website:
"It's been 3 months since the last show in Hartwall Arena and things are finally calming down. I just read through the yet unfinished version of the upcoming Nightwish-book. I was very impressed. It made me feel nostalgic, happy, ashamed and sad at the same time. This book is written by Mr. Mape Ollila and it's being finished as we speak. The Finnish version of the book will be released in May. Also the live DVD "End Of An Era" will be released later this year but we have no information about the exact release date yet.
At the moment I'm occupied with writing songs for the next Nightwish album. 14 pieces done so far. I'm also participating in Timo Rautiainen's solo album, the new For My Pain album, and some Kotiteollisuus´ live gigs before summer. With Nightwish we will start rehearsing the new stuff in June, entering the studio in September. Again we will write a diary through this site so you guys know what's happening while in the studio. New Nightwish-homepage will also see daylight soon.
At the moment Emppu has his own side projects, Marco is working with the new Tarot-album and Jukka is busy with his new project, unrelated to music business.
The new singer will be announced through this site when the time comes. Please believe in nothing that's not confirmed on this page.

Manticora - Lineup Change, To Enter In The Studio

More information about the 2 albums (yes, you read it right - TWO albums!!!) will be on this site in a short while!
Now for something else ... we've chosen to part ways with Stefan Johansson after one year of good fun together. Stefan jumped in on guitar right before our European tour with Angra/Edenbridge, and he played with us on all our gigs in 2005. We had a lot of fun, and Stefan did a great job. However, we've found out during the writing-stages of the new material, that his writing-style just didn't fit to Manticora. So, we've decided to ask Martin Arendal once again to rejoin us for the recording of lead guitars on the new album(s). Thanks to Stefan for your time in Manticora - we wish you the best of luck!!!!

Manowar - Guitarist Injured In Motorcyle Accident
Karl Logan, lead guitarist of heavy metal powerhouse Manowar, was injured on Tuesday, January 24th 2006 in a motorcycle accident. Logan sustained severe injuries to his left arm, which will prevent him from performing for an as-yet-unknown period of time. "Manowar will have to reconsider all of our plans, but the good news is that Karl is ok and he'll be back stronger than ever," says MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio.
Logan was preparing to record his lead guitar parts for the upcoming, yet to be named, MANOWAR album, the release of which will now be delayed. Touring plans are also expected to change as a result of this unfortunate turn of events. However, Manowar will soldier on. "We don't have any more information at this time," says DeMaio. "But nothing ever has, or ever will, stop MANOWAR." More information will be released as it becomes available.

Finally we can reveal a track listing for the album "God Has A Plan For Us All" which is due for release around the end of April via Listenable Records.The track listing is more or less in its correct order but as you know, things change!- Original sin

* Indicate tracks taken from the Torn Between Two Worlds demo,which was a "Movie Score" type project between Chris and I, that was released solely for record companies around 2003. They havent been changed too much from the original versions but have been re-recorded and some extra's have been
added! The album is still being mixed and it due to be mastered Feb 14th at CuttingRoom in Stockholm by Björn Engelmann who has a very impressive background and has done everything from Rammstein to In Flames, Soilwork to Dimmu Borgir to Within Temptation.
Last but not least! A few more guests! Tony Könberg, a male singer/musician from Sundsvall, helped out with some choir parts.He has been part of several local bands for 20 years and is also a theater and musical performer. We used him on the Torn Between Two Worlds demo as well. He has an amazing low choir voice and this time just couldn't do without him! Also Richard Andersson, who has been labeled the "Fastest Keyboard Player in the World" has participated on our album by laying down a keyboard solo on one of our songs! I had never heard anything like it in my life! A keyboard solo??? He is in strong demand and has a huge fan base of his own! He is known for bands like Majestic, Time Requiem and Space Odyssey. Doro ´s new album "Warrior Soul" is ready!
It is done! Doro 's new album "Warrior Soul" is ready and willing now and will be released on 27th March
(24th March in Germany). The blonde Metal Queen has finished working on it with an extreme positive impression.
"It 's a really strong feeling", she describes. "Something very big".
Indeed the reactions to the album are overwhelming so far - twelve regular tracks and two bonus tracks for the limited edition present Doro from her strongest side. "It is time for heavy metal again", Marc Halupczok from German Metal Hammer says. Huge fireworks full of urtypical, strong Doro-hymns, everything from hard to soft.

The program for Finnish Metal Expo, the event specialising in the metal music industry, at kaapelitehdas (Cablefactory) in Helsinki, Finland during Feb 17.-18. is now ready.
The last vacant slot in the show program is now filled by Winterborn. This up-and-coming Finnish melodic metal act will take the stage on Saturday, thus completing the line-up. The entire artist roster can be found at the end of this e-mail as well as in the web, www.fme.fi.
The programs for the two clinic/side stages have also been finalised. The instrument clinic stage provided by Musamaailma Music Shop will feature the likes of Alexi Laiho, Roope Latvala, Kuisma Aalto, Tuomo Saikkonen, Marco Hietala, Emppu Vuorinen, Mikko Kaakkuriniemi, Lauri Porra and Tuomas Väinölä. The second side stage at Puristamo will feature listening sessions from up coming releases from various record labels as well as the latest inventions on the metal karaoke-front. Exact schedules and participant lists on the web. The exhibition stands will also present world class stars; so far the FME-organisation has been been informed of the arrival of Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish and Tomas Haake of Meshuggah. A large number of Finnish metal musicians can naturally be found representing at the expo stands.
The Finnish Metal Awards -gala that takes place on Friday Feb 17th will reward the best Finnish metal of the year, elected by the people. So far, more than 7000 votes have been cast and the poll will close on Feb 10th. The winners will be announced at 20:30 on FME-Friday.
Tickets for Finnish Metal Expo are now on sale through Tiketti (www.tiketti.fi) and Lippupalvelu (www.lippupalvelu.fi) In advance, we sell one day tickets only, 20 euros each. FME is an all-ages event
with bars to those over 18 and feel the need for such services. Expo Tickets are sold at the door only. Expo Tickets 7 euros each, family package 25 euros (includes 2 adults max 3 children).

The instrument clinic stage provided by Musamaailma Music Shop will feature the likes of Alexi Laiho, Roope Latvala, Kuisma Aalto, Tuomo Saikkonen, Marco Hietala, Emppu Vuorinen, Mikko Kaakkuriniemi, Lauri Porra and Tuomas Väinölä. The second side stage at Puristamo will feature listening sessions from up coming releases from various record labels as well as the latest inventions on the metal karaoke-front. Exact schedules and participant lists on the web. The exhibition stands will also present world class stars; so far the FME-organisation has been been informed of the arrival of Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish and Tomas Haake of Meshuggah. A large number of Finnish metal musicians can naturally be found representing at the expo stands.
The Finnish Metal Awards -gala that takes place on Friday Feb 17th will reward the best Finnish metal of the year, elected by the people. So far, more than 7000 votes have been cast and the poll will close on Feb 10th. The winners will be announced at 20:30 on FME-Friday.
Tickets for Finnish Metal Expo are now on sale through Tiketti (www.tiketti.fi) and Lippupalvelu (www.lippupalvelu.fi) In advance, we sell one day tickets only, 20 euros each. FME is an all-ages event
with bars to those over 18 and feel the need for such services. Expo Tickets are sold at the door only. Expo Tickets 7 euros each, family package 25 euros (includes 2 adults max 3 children).

The new ANTHEMON album is entitled "KADAVRESKI". Recorded between June and August 2005, the band's third opus has been mixed once again by Ahti Kortelaiene at Tico Tico studio in Finland. "KADAVRESKI", split in two parts, features the following tracks :

2. Print Of The Sand Glass (9'02)
3. All Is Cyclical (6'53)
4. Weight Of The Feather (5'22)
The first song, which gives its title to the album, has the particularity to be a "cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse)"; Every member of the band has composed a part without knowing the content of the parts written by the others.

Finntroll - Lead Singer Wilska Fired
Finland's Finntroll have parted ways with singer Tapio Wilska. Wilska's official statement on the matter from band's website:
"With a heavy heart I bring you the following news: In a band meeting one hour ago I was fired as a singer of Finntroll. Reasons are many and for the most part private, but personal differences and lack of discussion have led my bandmates to doubt my commitment for this band. I believe this will be discussed widely in the following days and more info will undoubtedly be out soon for your viewing pleasure. I will only say the following: These past three years have been the best times of my life and I want to thank all the friends I've gained from this, crews past and present, supporters who came to our shows and shared the good and the bad times. I will always cherish you in my heart. Thanks for my now ex-bandmates for sharing this experience with me. Life goes on and wounds will heal. The future remains to be seen.

Infernal Angels - To Release Debut Album Soon
The first full-length album of Italian BM act Infernal Angels, titled "Shining Evil Light", will be released in February 2006 by Officina Rock Records/Masterpiece (Fearbringer, Lord Vampyr, Necroart...). The first edition will be printed in a limited version of 333 copies handle numeration. The album, recorded in the T.S.A Studios and mastered at 4th Dimension Studios contains 9 tracks of Obscure and Epic Black Metal. Out in February 2006.
