Dokken - Classic Lineup Reunites

The classic lineup of American metallers Dokken will reunite for 6 shows in Japan. Frontman Don Dokken confirmed the rumours that he and longtime drummer Mick Brown have booked a handful of Japanese shows with former guitarist George Lynch and bassist Jeff Pilson. However, this reunion will be short-lived. Money convinced them to reunite temporarily.

Tim "Ripper" Owens - Denied Entry Into The U.K.

American Tim "Ripper" Owens, who was once the singer in British metal veterans Judas Priest and Iced Earth, among other bands, before his solo career, has been denied entry into the U.K. And he didn't perform at the Wildfire Festival in Scotland as scheduled.

Lords Of Black - Rainbow Cover Streaming Online

Spanish heavy metal masters Lords Of Black, who feature in their ranks the new Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero, recorded a cover version of their classic "Lady Of The Lake" during the sessions for their second album, II. The track, which was released as a bonus cut with the new disc, can be streamed below. The band releases the track in celebration of Ronnie's performances with Rainbow.

Memoriam - Karl Willetts' New Band To Release Debut

Recently, the new death metal group Memoriam fronted by Karl Willetts of Bolt Thrower fame released their first song. Now, the band has signed a deal with Nuclear Blast. This means that their debut album is coming out in 2017 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Led Zeppelin - Win 'Stairway To Heaven' Jury Trial

As previously reported here and here, Led Zeppelin have been under fire and were accused of stealing the opening notes of their most famous song, "Stairway To Heaven," from the band Spirit. But now they have won the lawsuit. A Los Angeles jury has decided the band did not steal the opening to its classic anthem "Stairway To Heaven" from the album Led Zeppelin IV.

Vader - New Album Pushed Back, Reveal EP Cover

If you thought the new Vader album was coming out this September, think again. Unfortunately, the Polish death metal veteran maniacs have pushed back the release date of their new studio album, The Empire, to November 4th from the previously announced September 23rd via Nuclear Blast. In the meantime, you can check out the artwork for their upcoming EP, Iron Times. It was created by artist Joe Petagno, he also made the artwork of Vader's latest EP, Go To Hell.

Helloween - Cancel Japanese Tour Due To Drummer's Illness

Helloween have unfortunately been forced to cancel their Japanese tour due to the sudden illness of drummer Daniel Löble. The German power metallers were set to play five shows in Japan this month but in the morning hours of June 14th, their drummer was hospitalized with an appendix breakthrough. He underwent an emergency surgery and his doctors have strongly advised him to "rest for several weeks." However, they are working on rescheduling the dates.

Magellan - Founding Member Trent Gardner Dies

American prog rock band Magellan has lost its founding father, vocalist and keyboardist Trent Gardner (his brother, also founder, Joel Wayne Gardner died in 2014). He passed away suddenly and this memorial fund was created by his family. R.I.P.

Deep Purple - Cancels Two Swedish Shows

British hard rockers Deep Purple have canceled the two shows they were scheduled to play in Sweden this week (Tuesday, June 14th at Gröna Lund in Stockholm and Wednesday, June 15th at Liseberg in Gothenburg) after one of the band members became ill. No further details have yet been made available by the group neither did they release any statement about it so far.
