Led Zeppelin - Can Settle Stairway Lawsuit For $1 And Writing Credit

Two years ago, Led Zeppelin faced a copyright infringement claim by a lawyer for the defunct 1960s group Spirit arguing that the opening notes of their iconic song "Stairway To Heaven" sound a lot like "Taurus", an instrumental piece by the late Spirit guitarist Randy California, released on his band's debut album in 1968. Well, now the lawyers suing Led Zeppelin over claims that the opening to "Stairway To Heaven" was stolen say their client is willing to settle for the sum of $1 but there's a catch.

Scorpions - Recruit Mikkey Dee To Fill In On U.S. Dates

After Motörhead's iconic frontman Lemmy died and the band dissolved, Swedish drummer Mikkey Dee had to search for other gigs and was supposed to perform with Thin Lizzy on their anniversary shows. However, he will join German iconic rockers Scorpions instead as they have hired him for their U.S. tour dates. He will replace the band's drummer James Kottak, who is currently on break while he seeks medical attention.

Muses Of Metal Fest - Cancelled

Since Emily Alice Ovenden left the band last year, Pythia have been fronted by the new singer Sophie Dorman. Unfortunately, they just announced that the Muses Of Metal Fest has been cancelled after Draconian pulled out. The festival was supposed to take place in Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom, on May 7th.

Eternal Tears Of Sorrow - To Play First Shows Outside Of Europe

Finnish extreme power metal idols Eternal Tears Of Sorrow are finally venturing outside of Europe and will play their first shows abroad in Japan. For now, they have booked two Japanese shows: in Osaka and Tokyo. The band's latest album came out three years ago, Saivon Lapsi and they haven't been very active lately.

Akercocke - Working On New Album, New Song Available

It's happening! London progressive/death metal act Akercocke rise from the dead. They broke up in 2012, and after 4 years, they now come back with new music to offer. The group is active again and has launched some official band pages. The other good news is that they are working on their new and sixth album, Renaissance In Extremis, following 2007's Antichrist. Belphegor - Forced To Cancel Russian Tour

Black/death metal blasphemers Belphegor have been forced to cancel their Russian tour, after frontman Helmuth "Hel" Lehner was attacked at the St. Petersburg airport. Now, for the first time after the incident, the band has released a statement regarding what happened. Three of their shows were cancelled and in Moscow, the sound engineer was forced to mute the vocals because of their lyrical content. Basically, it was a disaster.

Earache Records - Signs U.S. Distribution Deal With ADA/Warner

In label news, U.K. independent label Earache Records has teamed up with ADA/Warner in the USA for a new distribution and services deal, to make its catalog available again physically on CD and vinyl LP from May 5th. The partnership is due to come into effect with the June 10th arrival of Rival Sons' new album Hollow Bones to officially herald the new deal.
