Ihsahn - Working On New Album

Even with last year's release Eremita fresh on people's minds, Ihsahn is already hard at work on new material for a new album. Tobias Ørnes Andersen from Leprous has already recorded the drum parts for it at the Juke Joint Studio. According to Ihsahn's label Candlelight Records, his fifth solo record will be recorded in the coming months and is tentatively set for release later this year in the autumn.

Van Canto - Renew Deal With Napalm, New Album This Year

Following the release of 2011's Break The Silence and a headlining tour in support of the album, a cappella power metallers Van Canto took the very first live break of their career. They used the time to work on numerous side projects and to recharge the batteries for their return in 2013. Besides confirmed festival appearances, the band will also release their fifth studio album in the fall/winter of 2013. Van Canto also renewed their deal with Napalm Records.

Howl - Share New Album Cover Art And Trailer

Providence sludge metallers Howl will unleash their second full-length of metal filth this April. Entitled Bloodlines, the ten-track offering was recorded at the infamous Planet Z Studio in Hadley, Massachusetts with Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Soulfly, Crowbar, Municipal Waste, 3 Inches Of Blood). Brazilian veterans Sepultura have released albums steadily in the last few years and the band has already started the writing sessions for their next album and successor to Kairos, released back in 2011. Sepultura plan to release the album this year under Nuclear Blast Records.

Symphony X - Drummer Suffers Heart Failure

Worrying news came from the Symphony X camp today. It was announced that last week, drummer Jason Rullo was admitted to the hospital for heart failure. Jason spent a week in the hospital, and was released last week. The good news is that he has started a rehab program, and has been told that his recovery will take a minimum of 3-6 months under doctors' care. The band hopes the drummer can be back soon.

Carcass - Reveal New Album Title

Carcass' guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker were interviewed by Terrorizer magazine and revealed some exclusives about the band's upcoming new and sixth album to be released later this year, their first studio album in 17 years. Now the Savannah-based quintet has announced the title and release date of their forthcoming album.
