Ancient - New Album Update

Last December, it was revealed that Norwegian black metallers Ancient were working on their seventh album to finally follow Night Visit (2004). Recently, the band updated on that. Their comeback album is being recorded and will be called Chapter VII: Back From The Land Of The Dead, for a release around September.

Dutch Doom Days XIII - First Bands Announced

Dutch Doom Days, a doom metal festival which takes place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, has announced its first bands for the next edition. Those are Excruciation, a death/doom act from Switzerland, and Hungarian doom/sludge group Magma Rise. Later today, The Wounded Kings were also confirmed. Many more bands will be announced for the fest that will happen from October 31st to November 1st, 2014.

Astarte - Update On Tristessa's Health

Children Of Bodom - Drummer Suffering From Back Problems

Drummer Jaska Raatikainen of Finnish metallers Children Of Bodom has recently revealed that he was diagnosed with three prolapsed discs in his lower back during the band's fall 2013 European tour. Even though he is doing much better now, Jaska is still not 100% recovered. The band has just begun a North American tour and also released a new lyric video for the song "Sream For Silence" (from Halo Of Blood), available to watch here.

Magellan - Joel Wayne Gardner Dies

Magellan's founding member Joel Wayne Gardner has passed away at his home in Sacramento on February 10th. He was 48 years old. Wayne was an artist and musician. He helped his older brother, Trent Gardner form the progressive band Magellan in 1985 and was integral to its success until the day of his death.

Inquisition - Vienna Performance Cancelled, Banned From Venue

Black metal war machine Inquisition are currently touring in Europe in support of Behemoth and Cradle Of Filth on their co-headlining tour but their appearance at the show in Vienna, Austria has been cancelled. The venue promoter has banned them and the band was informed they cannot perform there. What?!

Gory Blister - New Label, New Album Announced

Italian technical death metallers Gory Blister have inked a deal with Sliptrick Records for the release of their fifth studio album. Tentatively due this spring, the record will be mastered by Q Point in Hilversum, The Netherlands. According to a press release, Gory Blister's new songs feature the band's classic style, but with a darker and more refined sound.

This should be a treat for Joe Satriani fans. For the first time, all of Joe's albums will be compiled in the new Joe Satriani: The Complete Studio Recordings, a 15 CD library box set due out on April 22nd via Legacy Recordings. All recordings are brand-new digital masters, overseen by Joe, with each CD packaged in a replica cardboard jacket. Joe's autobiography Strange Beautiful Music: A Musical Memoir is also due to come out this April.

Volbeat - Release New Video

"Lonesome Rider" is the new Plastickid-directed video from hard rock act Volbeat.
