Artillery - Former Session Drummer Sven Olsen Passes

Danish metallers Artillery have announced that their former session drummer Sven Olsen has passed away due to cancer. He was also a member of Missing Link, a band with connections to Artillery and which was formed by guitarist Michael Stützer in 1988 when Artillery was on a hiatus.

The Storyteller - New Album Cover Unveiled

Swedish heavy metal band The Storyteller has been working on their new album Dark Legacy, which will be released in the spring of 2013 under Dark Legacy Music/Black Lodge Records. The band has also unveiled the album artwork created by the Italian artist Maria Laura Bellocco. This will be their first new album since 2005's Underworld.

Carcass - Mixing First Studio Album In 17 Years

British extreme metal legends Carcass have begun mixing 15 new songs for their first studio album in 17 years with acclaimed producer Colin Richardson (Fear Factory, Machine Head, Napalm Death). The songs were tracked in Derbyshire. The band has yet to reveal the label home for the new output, which is expected later this year.

Sodom - More Details About New Album Revealed

German thrash metal veterans Sodom will release their new studio album Epitome Of Torture on April 29th in Europe and May 7th in North America via SPV/Steamhammer. Vocalist/bassist Thomas "Angelripper" Such, guitarist Bernd "Bernemann" Kost and new drummer Markus "Makka" Freiwald recorded a total of twelve new tracks (plus a Motörhead cover) which "present Sodom as more diverse and multi-faceted than ever."

Cathedral - New Song Available For Streaming

U.K. doom metal cult act Cathedral have released its first new recorded material in three years exclusively via Decibel magazine's subscriber-only Decibel Flexi Series. The song "Vengeance Of The Blind Dead" can be heard in the flexi included in this month's issue, now available in newsstands. The track is also streaming on Decibel's Soundcloud page over here.

Airbourne - Releasing New Album In May

Australia's hard rock outfit Airbourne has a new album coming up, titled Black Dog Barking, which shall be released via Roadrunner Records on May 21st. Produced by award winning producer Brian Howes, this is Airbourne's third album and the follow up to No Guts. No Glory., which was released back in 2010.

Trees Of Eternity - Recording Debut Album This Month, Promo Video Online

Negator - Unveil New Album Title And Tracklist

German black metallers Negator have started revealing some details about their upcoming offering. It will be titled Gates To The Pantheon and the tracklist can be seen below. The album will have a total playing time of 41 minutes and it will be available in two different versions: limited box set (including bonus track and more) and standard jewel case. The band promises to reveal the artwork and uncover more details about the limited box edition next week.
