Midnattsol - Update From The Band
Midnattsol has released the following band statement:
"Many of you have been wondering lately when our third album will be released. Fortunately we are now happy to announce that the release date of The Metamorphosis Melody is the 25th of March 2011. In addition to 11 brand new songs with almost an hour playtime, we have made a Limited Edition for you as well, this time with both a Bonus DVD and a Bonus track, sung by Daniel Droste (Ahab). The exact content of the DVD and the titles of the new songs will be revealed in our next news. You can already preorder the Limited Edtion - and the Normal Edition on Amazon.de.
We have some good news regarding live activities as well: Midnattsol is going to play a great deal live in 2011; you can watch us on concerts, festivals and tours. We can't wait to show you the new songs and party with you. Watch out for more information!
But unfortunately there is also some bad news for you: our guitarist Daniel Droste has recently left the band due to the fact that he wanted to concentrate on his band Ahab. We want to thank Daniel from the bottom of our heart for all the awesome and funny moments together with him in the rehearsal room, studio, tour bus and of course on stage and wish him all the best for the future, both regarding his musical career and private life.
In order to be a complete band again, we are now in search of a new guitarist. We will keep you informed!"

Napalm Records is very proud to announce that Ex Deo has joined its ranks.
The band revolving around Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono recently returned from a highly successful North American tour, presenting metal fans with the mighty force of the Roman legion. Ex Deo, whose first full length Romulus was praised by fans and critics alike, signed a worldwide recording deal with the Austrian label. The band's second offering Caligula is tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release and is bound to shake the metal scene to its core. Nothing can withstand the power of Rome!
Maurizio Iacono: "Today I'm excited to say that we have found a new home for the Roman legion of Ex Deo! We have parted ways amicably with our long time friends at Nuclear Blast for the second album of Ex Deo, we needed to separate even more the two bands of Kataklysm and Ex Deo and we now have a new vision of soldiers behind Ex Deo and we have found this after a few months of talking to different labels with Napalm Records out of Austria, I've been dealing with them with a band I work with called Alestorm and they have done a fantastic and professional job... we look forward to releasing the anticipated second album Caligula with this new powerhouse and unleashing next year one of the most defiant albums metal has seen in ages... Roma Invicta!"

Kampfar - Guitarist Leaves The Band
Norwegian metallers Kampfar have parted ways with guitarist Thomas. His statement on the matter reads as follows:
"After playing guitar in Kampfar for quite a few years, I have now decided to leave the band. I cannot even begin to sum up all the good times I've had together with my bandmates, and our close friendship will surely continue outside of the context of the band.
I sincerely hope the guys will find another guitarist to play in the band (the riffs are not that hard to play and there are no solos, which could be seen as a plus or a minus depending on perspective). On the stage, you'll only need to pay attention to Ask, since he knows how to keep in time. It is also best to watch out for Jon and Dolk as they are maniacs and will not stand still for a moment.
To all the good people I've met through Kampfar, take care and I'll see you around. For my brothers in the band, my love and respect as always."
