Crying Blood - To Release New Album Next Month
Xtreem Music has come to an agreement with Spanish Black Metal band Crying Blood for the imminent release of their third opus "Animae Damnatae".
Crying Blood is one of the most veteran bands in the Spanish Black Metal scene that is still active and they're pioneers in singing in their native tongue (Spanish) giving it a different feel compared to other bands of similar sound. Entirely recorded at VRS Studios (Avulsed, Haemorrhage, Mistweaver, Looking For An Answer...) in Madrid, "Animae Damnatae" features 13 songs in over 55 minutes of a majestic and symphonic Black Metal which will surely please any fan of the good old days of Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. And with this, the band relies on giving their strongest step forward to establish them as one of the most recognised Black Metal forces in the Spanish scene.
The release of "Animae Damnatae" is scheduled for release during the first days of September and you can already hear some advance tracks at the band's official MySpace.

De Profundis - To Release New Album This Year
De Profundis guitarist Roman Subbotin has issued the following update concerning the band's sophomore album:
"My long-winded blogs return, at last, after a prolonged absence. If the Devil finds work for idle hands, I want to know which bastard has been finding work for me and why there's been so much of it?!?
Anyway, our second album is now well and truly finished. Produced by Fernando Pereira Lopes and ourselves it represents a significant moment for our musical evolution. We've all worked really hard and, in my humble opinion, achieved rather spectacular results.
The "record" button was first pressed on 5th June 2009, after which we've spent almost a whole month in various studios in and around London recording the album. Mixing then took place over two sessions at Russ Russell's Parlour Studios in July. The mixes where then mastered by Tim Turan. What seems like an eternal process has finally come to an end...?
The new rhythm section of De Profundis (Nick & Arran) should take a lot of credit for the evolution of our sound, and rightly so. These guys did a fantastic job, even if I was originally none-too-pleased having to re-learn several of my own riffs to make them fit in with a new groove or feel that these two had come up with! The guitars and vocal arrangements built on the strengths of the first album as we explored our influences much more and steadfastly ignored any and all genre conventions.
Craig did a fantastic job with vocals, ranging from the very brutal stuff all the way to emotive spoken word sections and whispers. Shoi, meanwhile, recorded some fantastic guitar solos, comprehensively proving that technique and feel need not be exclusive. I'm happy enough with what I recorded, this time taking more of the melodic slow lead guitar sections; although Shoi and I do have a lead guitar "duel" in one of the tracks at very fast tempo!
As well as being heavier, more aggressive and more progressive (!), the new album is also much more dynamic, which, in my opinion, makes it a much more involving and powerful entity. Some people will like it, yet others will, no doubt, find it even more bewildering than our first album. We make no apologies or excuses here.
A big 'thank you' must go out to Fernando Pereira Lopes, who tirelessly worked with us on the album. The album in its final form would simply not have been possible without his hard work and guidance.
Of the eight tracks on the album, two of them are instrumental. There are several surprises on the album, which... Actually, I'll leave it there for you to find out yourselves!

Jodis - Khanate, Isis Members' New Project To Release Debut Album
Jodis, an entirely new outfit involving James Plotkin (Khanate, Khlyst, Phantomsmasher, O.L.D.) Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Lotus Eaters, House Of Low Culture, GREYMACHINE) and Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God), is a modern exploration of restrained sonic minimalism and tonal/textural density.
Jodis' "Secret House," as a whole, recalls a void, a shoreless pit, a slow nihilistic decent into absolute blankness... The vocals emote a deviating distress, one that the listener will walk away from also knowing. The guitars loom with an almost inconceivable image of stillness. The percussion possesses an irregular circularity facilitating the general disorientation encapsulating the mood of the record. In summation, a thorough listen would kick the living shit out of your aptitude for co-habituation with other humans.
"Secret House" cover art] tracklist:
01. Ascent
02. Continents
03. Secret House
04. Follow the Dogs
05. Little Beast
06. Waning
07. Slivers
"Secret House" will be released on October 27th on Hydra Head Records.

"In the waiting for Pathfinder debut album, we decided to record for you a small "music surprise" - this song always enchanted us - since the 80's up to this day. Vidres A La Sang - Almost Finished Recording New Album
Xtreem Music press release
After three years working in the shadow, Spanish darkened Death Metal mongers Vidres A La Sang are back on track to complete and announce the coming of their third opus completing a trilogy that has transported us through the realms of poundingness, brutality, epic, feelings and drama dualized in only one context of life and death.
"Som" is the title of this new album that will reveal new horizons for the band that even though they still keep it loyal to their trademarks, explores new ways to reinvent themselves and keep on growing in their creative camp of maximum maturity. "Som" is a risky and honest work, carefully ellaborated, dense and crushing, intense and suffocating, simple and twisted in equal parts, the masterpiece that should Vidres A La Sang to the top of contemporaneous extreme Metal.

"Som" is the third album, the one that closes the trilogy with 6 songs on each record. Previous albums included "Vidres A La Sang" and "Endins". "Som" features 6 tales, 6 visions, 6 songs...

Kekal - Remaining Members Leave, Band Stays Clinically Dead
Official press release, taken from the Kekal newsletter
Jeff Arwadi and Leo Setiawan are leaving Kekal effective immediately. Arwadi and Setiawan were the last two remaining Kekal members. Bassist Azharlevi Sianturi already left the band in March. Throughout the past few months, Jeff has been securing all copyright and other rights of the entire Kekal's "intellectual property" including the band's entire releases back-catalog as well as all official internet sites, and also plan to make some of the band's important albums for free download. However, after seeking some legal advices, he decided to keep Kekal to remain exist as a band (read: institution) albeit without active band-members.
The following is the statement made by Jeff: "I cannot describe how sad I am at this point, but the situation is simply inevitable and I have made a decision, a very tough decision I've been thinking about for more than a couple years now: I am leaving Kekal.
Tuesday, I celebrated the 14th anniversary of Kekal in a very low-key; drinking alone quietly in sadness and grief, remembering all those years we have been through as a band. It is hard to believe that I had to leave this way, but it is better to end like this than to suffer by not being able to express myself properly to the band, and not being able to handle the band all by myself.
After about 3 years of living in such a different atmosphere (being closer to the nature: parks, lakes & mountains, and being placed in the city of 1 million instead of overcrowded 13 million that I used to live), I found myself devoid of all the anger and bitterness within, and further, that turns out that I am unable to express myself with music. I realized that I had used music to express negative feelings for far too long, to channel pain, anger and bitterness, if you don't have them in you any longer to a certain level, you can't force yourself to make that happen or they might influence you back into your life. I am all against fake expressions, and there is no way for me to lie to myself pretending that I still have that kind of negative feelings and continue to write songs for Kekal.
There are indeed some other reasons which contribute to my final decision, but they are more personal and private.
As for the other remaining member, Leo, he agreed that if I leave Kekal, he will leave too. He has his own music project at this moment and he wants to keep his focus on that, so this means he is leaving Kekal with me. And Levi already left Kekal earlier this year.

Lightning Swords Of Death - Ink Deal With Metal Blade Records
Metal Blade Records is proud to announce inking a deal with LA underground black metal act, Lightning Swords Of Death. The band is seven years of the making and has been praised by the likes of Decibel, SOD Magazine, PIT Magazine and Metal Maniacs for their unrelenting and irrefutably vicious sound. Those who were privy to the band's 2007 release, "The Golden Plague", are already aware of the band's prowess. Their second release took the form of a split CD with comrades Valdur, which was only available for a limited time at performances during the country wide 2008 Blodhevn tour. Metal Maniacs called LSOD's part a "heavy, bestial and brutal assault bringing to mind a young and hungry Thornspawn." The split continues to infect all who experience its unyielding expression of true chaos, but it's only a precursor of the grand and terrible horror that is looming in the future like a headsman's shadow...
Vocalist Autarch divulges: "Metal Blade has made a pact with the Devil. His knights, Lightning Swords of Death shall go forth to wreak torment upon man and all his works for conquer and the glory of Hell on Earth. We rejoice in this union, together we shall stack the souls of the weak and fill our chalice with the blood of martyrs."
Keep an eye out for the new album coming in 2010.
