Behemoth - New Album In Progress

Behemoth is in the final stages of the songwriting process for their upcoming, yet untitled album. The record is tentatively expected sometime in the fall via Metal Blade (US), Nuclear Blast (Europe). Nergal and Co. are planning to enter the studio in the middle of February. Behemoth's mainman Nergal has issued the following report:

"As I write this, we have seven songs that are completely written and arranged though there's still leads missing in some of them. It all sounds tight as fuck and very fresh! There are two more songs under working so after New Year break we should start working on it. I want this album to be very consistent, intense and catchy at the same time. Judging by what what's been composed so far, that's exactly where we are with this new material.

Last year was a very productive year for all of us? we've toured US, Australia and New Zealand, covered most of prestigious festivals in Europe and invaded virgin markets in Asia: Japan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand. It was also the first time since ages that I managed to take two months off from any band activity. I travelled a lot, recharged my batteries and decompressed myself. I've been collecting ideas, riffs and pieces of lyrics throughout the whole 2008 but it was in October where I seriously kicked my ass and started full on work on the album. It went pretty rough in the very first stages but the more stuff was written the smoother it went."

I must confess that I'm way more excited about this record than I was for "The Apostasy". It's probably the whole label situation that we had to deal back then, Inferno's injury that caused crazy deadlines that completely drained the energy out of my system? I even started treating that album as unwanted child. Weird, because from time perspective it's a great one. This time though everything was planned much in advanced. I found time to live my life, get some energy back, get inspired and so on? when we met in October it was obvious that all of us were really hungry for making new music. It's definitely 100% Behemoth. I would risk to say that we do have our own style but it's still improving, evolving in different directions every time we approach new project. Most of the songs are the really fast, technical and intense, at the same time there's a lot of diversity. There's even a very slow, massive song that's probably the most epic tracks in Behemoth's history. Everything sounds more serious and? dangerous (I love that word, ha ha). There's probably more sinister vibe in our music this time too. I'm completely stoked and I just can't wait til we enter the studio!"

Throes Of Dawn - Album Update

Throes Of Dawn have posted the following album update:

"Finally, I am pleased to tell you that the recordings of the fifth album have been finished on most parts and the sound engineer will start the mixing process at the very beginning of January.

As you can guess, the recording of this album has not been an easy task. It has required the patience of a dead animal to pull this thing through. But I can guarantee you it has been well worth all the time and trouble. This album is going to be the ultimate Throes Of Dawn album, our magnum opus.

We are well behind the schedules and plans, and I´m not going to give you any release date because it will propably not hold anyway, but the most important thing is that we are actually making progress and all the work will be over very soon."

In other news, the band has scheduled the following live dates:

14.03.2009 Moscow, Relax Club - Wings of Doom Festival
15.03.2009 St. Petersburg, Orlandina Club - Wings of Doom Festival

Debauchery - New Album In April

German death metallers Debauchery are wishing their fans a bloody New Year and have the following resolutions made for 2009:

"We are back from our Blood God Rising In The East World Tour 2008, which brought us to 16 countries and even to the People's Republic of China. Thanks to all of you crazy guys and girls who checked out our shows. 2008 was very successful for Debauchery. We toured all over the world, spawned the "Continue To Kill" record and are still alive.

But what to expect of 2009: The new record "Rockers & War" will come in April. The first part, the WAR part, contains 6 songs of violence and death. Some even sound a little bit like Slayer with keyboards or Dimmu Borgir black metal. I don't know. Cool stuff, fast, melodic but brutal as hell. All the speed freaks will love the Savage Mortician with it's 280 Bpm. The titles are:

There Is Only War
Primordial Annihilator
Savage Mortician
Honour And Courage
Killing Ground
Wolves Of The North

The second part, the ROCKERS part, contains another 5 songs. Pure hard rock, and some surprises. Music for headbangers, party stuff and songs for all the Hell Bunnys out there. Even another Debauchery ballad. The titles are

New Rock
3 Riff Hit
Demon Lady
Hammer Of the Blood God
I'm A Rocker

The new CD is more then just Death Metal. It's definitely the best I ever created. A journey through metal, with groove and brutality. But still 100% Debauchery. There will also be a bonus DVD for the new record and even a new hardcore lesbian porno video for the song "Death Metal Warmachine". You will love it!"

AC/DC - Entire 1979 Show Streaming Online

Wolfgang's Vault is reporting the following:

"AC/DC had been in existence for six years and had released as many albums when they recorded this rollicking show at Towson State College, near Baltimore, Maryland. The band was in its prime, with vocalist Bon Scott leading the group through what would later be viewed as some of their strongest material, with the Young Brothers (Angus and Malcolm) driving the guitar-boogie riffs at full throttle.

The band had just released "Highway To Hell", the album that would break the entertaining Aussie band worldwide, and was burning up the rock radio charts with a platter of classics that included "Girl's Got Rhythm," "Touch Too Much," and the title track.

Sadly, four months later, Bon Scott would drink himself to death and the band would be thrown into complete turmoil. The Young Brothers and the remaining members, however, would regroup and re-emerge with new singer Brian Johnson in 1980, as well as a new album, "Back In Black". AC/DC, as we all know, went on to superstar status, but there are those that say the Bon Scott version will never surpassed.

This concert, originally captured for the King Biscuit Flower Hour, is classic Scott era AC/DC, and one of the few professional live recordings that includes material from "Highway To Hell".

Opening with "Live Wire," the group barrels through many of their earlier classics, including: "Shot Down In Flames," "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be," "Problem Child," "She's Got The Jack," "High Voltage," and a blistering 12-minute version of "Let There Be Rock." But, the real gems in this set are the songs from what was the current album, "Highway To Hell," and "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)"."

The concert took place on 16 October 1979 at the Towson State College in Towson, MD, and is about 76 minutes long. Quality audio of the entire show is available for streaming online, after free simple, registration, at this location.

Mob Rules - Still Working On New Album

Just like last year, Mob Rules are wishing their fans a Happy New Year with promises for a new album. The band revealed the following:

"Meanwhile the band continues to work on the new (already 6th) album. No album title is confirmed yet, but a "hint" to the previous album "Ethnolution A.D." is likely. The main part of songs is already composed, also the band has started to record the first songs in the studio. This time Mob Rules' members work in legs to secure the best result possible. Beside the known Mob Rules qualities the new album will hold some surprises and unexpected things in store. One secret can be revealed here now: the six Northern Germans have written the longest song of their career so far and will amaze you with a real Melodic Metal pamphlet that lyrically deals with a very exciting up-to-date subject.

For 2009 we have the first shows confirmed now, also we are working to realise some very interesting tour constellations. Details to follow soon.

If you have a few minutes, check out the new Mob Rules Youtube channel. We have uploaded some unreleased video material and very soon you'll find all our official clips there."

Dark Moor - Bassist Leaves The Band, Replacement Found

Original news, posted on 29.12.2008

Dark Moor are sad to announce that Dani Fernandez has decided to parts ways with the band. "We want to thank Dani for his work and dedication all these years and wish the very best for the future!"

You can read a personal statement from the former Dark Moor bassist here:

"I will try to go straigh to the point in this statement. After thinking about this a lot, I took this tough decision that my time in Dark Moor ends here.

In the last few months my head was not with Dark Moor and this situation could have been damaging for the band and for my personal relation with Alfred, Enrik and Roberto in a near future, therefore after some conversations with the guys I have made this decision, which I think is the right thing to do.

I have spent almost 5 years in the family, almost 5 years in which I do not regret of anything, in which I have learned to be a good professional, both in studio and stage, in which I have recorded 3 works of art (Beyond the Sea, Tarot and Autumnal), in which I have shared lots of memories with the guys, good and bad, in which I have met lots of good and bad people. 5 years of concerts in which I worked my fingers to the bone in order that YOU, the fans, could enjoy Dark Moor. I could keep saying a lot but lets leave that here, I said I was going to try to be as straightforward as possible.

I will keep playing with Inntrance, my main band from this moment, in which I will give 100%

I wish all the best to the band, from the bottom of my heart, and so to Enrik (Thanks my friend for teaching me during 5 years and for being that professional), to Alfred (such good moments with you bro, I will never forget that), to Rober (who are you going to share beers with from now on? Haha, I won't forget you mate...) and to Diana (what would we do without you?). And I don't want to say goodbye without thanking you for your support, you the fans keep us alive. Thanks a lot for everything!!"

UPDATED (thanks to The Shape 1973)

Dark Moor have announced a new bass player, just one day after Dani Fernandez' exit. His name is Mario Garcia, having played in Spanish bans for 10 years, he is experienced both live and in the studio. He joins the line up as Dark Moor release their new album Autumnal in January 2009.

Crystal Viper - New Guitarist Announced

Polish Heavy metallers Crystal Viper have posted the following update on their MySpace blog:

"As some of you probably know, our live guitarist - Rafal "Guras" Gorny - had to leave Crystal Viper due to his day job. We of course remain friends, and Guras will always be part of the Crystal Viper family. Thank you for everything, brother!

We also want to announce, that Crystal Viper has new official guitarist, who filled the slot after Rafal "Guras". His name is Mateusz "Gajdek" Gajdzik (and you may also know his other band, Witchking).

Since Gajdek is band's member for just few days, and had no time to prepare all the material yet, the very next Crystal Viper live show (January 23, Valencia, Spain) will be played with a very special guest on 2nd guitar: Pete Raven of Kruk (who also played with Crystal Viper last year in Germany).

(Thanks Bad English)

Kekal - Almost Entire New Album Available For Download

"Audible Minority", the new 7th full-length album from Kekal will be released tomorrow (on December 25) via NePlusUltra Music. According to a press release, the title "Audible Minority" is based on the fact that the music on the album has mapped itself into the extreme minority status: something beyond recognition of the musical norms. "Audible Minority" is a stateless, nameless, and label-less manifesto made from all the bitterness and pain. Almost 2 years in the making, "Audible Minority" was constructed during various personal events of the band members' lives.

Under the motto: if you like what you hear, you are more than welcome to buy the CD or make a donation, this album also has a free/by-donation download available on the first 8 songs out of 11 total, which can be obtained directly on Last.fm. (Note: for all who did the Pre-Orders will receive a link to download entire 11 Tracks right away!)

The first pressing of the CD will be a special Digipak release with hand numbered and limited to 777 units. This CD version contains all 11 tracks total, including A-Ha cover "Locust", and will be ready very soon!

All possible album details are available at this location.

Warbringer - Recording New Album

While earning a reputation as road warriors, Warbringer have spent the last two months at home working on new material that will comprise their second album. The five-piece are now prepared to enter the studio in January to record the follow-up to "War Without End", voted by Revolver Magazine as one of the best albums of 2008.

In mid-January Warbringer will play four shows in California previewing new material, including a show in Anaheim during this year's NAMM show, before entering Sharkbite Studios (Machine Head, High On Fire) in Oakland on January 19th with Exodus guitarist Gary Holt producing. The album will be mixed by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish) at Castle Ultimate Studios.

Guitarist John Laux comments, "Since or last tour we've lead a very successful and creative campaign in the jam room collaborating on our next record. While staying true to our identity we have plenty of new tricks up our sleeves, including things we learned on the road, as well as showcasing Nic Ritter's explosive drumming. We're thrilled to be tracking in the Bay Area and we couldn't be more confident with Gary Holt as our producer to help us bring our music to life in a recorded format. Besides being a legend in the thrash scene, Exodus have always managed to produce records with a killer punch regardless of dismal musical climates. Also, we think Zack's experience in mixing and mastering will be excellent as he's worked on a number of very LOUD and FAST records."

Meanwhile Gary Holt had to this offer, "I am stoked to be producing the latest Warbringer record. I had a chance to hang out at rehearsal and listen to the new songs and their latest stuff is crushing! People will not be disappointed, that's a fact! The young guns are definitely stepping it up a notch or ten and it promises to be intense!"

Upon completion metal's most lethal live band will immediately hit the road beginning February 10th alongside Soilwork, Darkane and Swallow The Sun through the end of March leading straight into shows with Kreator, Exodus and Belphegor through May. Yes, the band will be playing over 100 North American shows to set up the new release while they continue to support their debut on what they've dubbed The Tour Without End.

Warbringer's new untitled affair is expected to be released in late May and the band plan to tour well into 2010.
