Exodus - New Album Details Revealed, Song Online

Original news, posted on 23.12.2009

San Francisco's Exodus have named their ninth studio album Exhibit B: The Human Condition. The band are currently recording in Northern California with Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Kreator). The album is expected to be released in Spring 2010.

A brand new song, entitled "Good Riddance," which will appear on the forthcoming CD is available for streaming in the YouTube clip here (as premiered during an Exodus live web stream on December 19).

Exodus will soon be on tour with Arch Enemy, Arsis, and Mutiny Within on the Tyrants Of Evil tour, which launches in Towson, Maryland on January 20th, 2010.

UPDATED on 26.02.2010 (thanks to BudDa and Dahalak)

Exodus will be releasing their ninth studio album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition, this spring. The cover artwork will look like this.

Guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt checks in about what the band was looking to capture art-wise and why the final version chosen nailed it: "We wanted to portray the violence of man at its finest, so we started with our own version of the Leonardo da Vinci sketch , but done the Exodus way! I was pointed in the direction of Colin Larks of Rainsong Design for the cover and he killed it! To me, the artwork represents man and his affinity for bloodshed, ignorance, and all-around ability to be led like sheep to the slaughter. The image fits the songs on this record perfectly. The whole layout is going to as sick as the record itself!"

Exhibit B: The Human Condition was recorded this past December in Northern California with producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Kreator).

UPDATE (thanks to BudDa)

Exodus have uploaded "Hammer And Life," a new track off their upcoming May 18th release, Exhibit B: The Human Condition, onto their MySpace player.

Guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt shares the background on the new song: "We decided to put up an early rough mix of "Hammer And Life" to give everybody a little taste of the new record. The really fast songs you'll get soon enough! This song is inspired by the one and only Paul Baloff, our ode to him. Paul was always the hammer in Exodus and he lived for metal more than anyone I've ever known. R.I.P."

Exhibit B: The Human Condition cover art] tracklist:

01. The Ballad Of Leonard And Charles
02. Beyond The Pale
03. Hammer And Life
04. Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)
05. Downfall
06. March Of The Sycophants
07. Nanking
08. Burn, Hollywood, Burn

Saxon - Bassist To Sit Out Tour

Saxon bassist Tim "Nibbs" Carter has been forced to take a step back from the band's upcoming tour due to his wife's illness. Here's the statement issued by the band:

"Sadly we are forced to announce that Nibbs won't be able to join us on the upcoming tour. Due to health problems of his wife we all decided that it will be the best for all if he stays with his wife and family to make sure that she will get well soon. We still want to do the tour and looking really forward to meeting all the Saxon fans out there - it wouldn't be fair to you to postpone the tour again. Gladly our friend Yenz Leonhardt (Kingdom Come, Lacrimosa etc.) will jump in for this part of the tour and try to replace Nibbs part as best he can, although Nibbs is irreplaceable to us."

Destruction - Part Ways With Drummer

Destruction and drummer Marc Reign will go separate ways in the future. Reign sat behind the drum kit for nine years. Here's the word from the band:

"Now it's official, the DVD A Savage Symphony, is the farewell gift from drummer Marc Reign for the Destruction fans. Tour-stress caused personal and musical differences, so both parties decided to go separate ways in the future.

Marc will concentrate on his rock-project Volcano and wants to keep himself open for other musical styles. He wants to thank all the Destruction maniacs worldwide and the band for all the great fun and support over all those years. Mike and Schmier wish him all the best and much success for his future projects.

All announced shows will of course go ahead. Destruction are currently writing new material that will "go more back to the roots", referring a statement from frontman Schmier."

"The first official The Arcane Order video is finally done! It's been 2 years since the release of our second album In the Wake of Collisions, but we are still very proud of that album and therefore decided to shoot a video for the most epic track on that album - "Eruptions of Red". The video was shot by our very good friend Hans Asmussen with next to no budget, but we are really happy with the result and the fact that we finally have something to share with you guys! Hope you guys will enjoy it as well, while you wait for our 3rd album."

Threat Signal - European Tour Cancellation

Threat Signal is stepping out of the European tour supporting (hed) p.e. Here's the band's statement:

"We sincerely regret to inform you that our 2010 European tour dates with (hed) p.e. and Atilla have been officially canceled. The tour will still go on; however, we will not be performing on it. We had worked very hard to make this tour even considerably possible, but due to financial difficulties we've had to abandon ship. We're back thousands more dollars than we originally expected, and we've been struggling ever since to find affordable means of transportation. We cannot justify or even find the amount of money needed to make this tour possible for us anymore...

Our hearts are broken, this would have been Threat Signal's first European Tour. On the upside, we've had an amazing North American run with Epica and Blackguard and are looking forward to confirmed dates in Canada. The more people that show their support locally will ultimately help us land these tours overseas. Even if you can't make it out to a show you can show your TS support by purchasing some new merchandise at Kill The 8 Online Merch Store, and music from iTunes and Amazon.

Once again, we apologize a million times over and over to our friends and fans in Europe who expected us on the tour. We're currently working extremely hard with our agents and record label to find another tour in Europe before the year is over. We promise to make this up to those who were looking forward to seeing us live."
