Slumber - New Line-up Announced, Ready To Enter Studio
Swedish melodic Doom/Death metallers Slumber have issued the following update about new album recordings and line-up:
"The recording of Resonance (the new Slumber album) has been re-set to October 5th - November 15th. It will be recorded at the isolated sphere of "Panic Room Studios" in Skara as the last album. This time though, we have twice the time and much more knowledge. The album will shine!!"

Manowar - Set To Release New EP
Manowar has posted the following piece of news on their website:
"Hail Brothers and Sisters of Steel! Fantasy becomes reality as Manowar releases the EP, "Thunder in the Sky." The introduction to The Asgard Saga, Manowar's collaboration with Germany's best-selling fantasy author, Wolfgang Hohlbein, will feature 6 songs and a bonus CD with "Father" recorded in 16 versions in 16 different languages. The EP is the prequel to the complete CD "Hammer of the Gods," due to be released at the end of 2009.
Destined to be a collector's item, the tour edition of the EP will be available at all the festivals Manowar headlines on The Death to Infidels Tour 2009.
In addition, the EP will be available for sale online in high-quality, DMR-free, MP3 format only at The Kingdom Of Steel Online Store. Moonspell - To Team Up With Samael For American Tour
Portuguese gothic metallers Moonspell will team up with Switzerland's Samael for the "Night Eternal Above America Tour", which is scheduled for October/November this year. The support on the road will come from America's Book Of Black Earth and German Black metal band Secrets Of The Moon.

Nevermore - To Enter Studio In August
From the Nevermore Myspace:
Seattle metallers Nevermore will enter the studio in August with producer (and Soilwork guitarist) Peter Wichers (who previously worked with Nevermore vocalist Warrel Dane on Dane's solo debut, "Praises to the War Machine") to begin recording their long-awaited follow-up to 2005's "This Godless Endeavor", tentatively due in early 2010 via Century Media Records. Longtime friend and collaborator Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Exodus, Machine Head) will once again be handling mixing duties.
Commented Dane: "These songs are full of newfound rage, lyrically and musically. Jeff Loomis has come up with some amazing new riffs that will no doubt please old and new fans alike. Also, I think the combination of Peter and Andy will result in something very, very special."
Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Emptiness Unobstructed" and "Without Morals".
Nevemore's "The Year Of The Voyager" DVD last year entered the German DVD chart at position No. 82.
"The Year Of The Voyager" was released in North America on November 25, 2008 via Century Media. The set covers the "This Godless Endeavor" touring cycle, starting with amazing live footage from the U.S. Gigantour 2005, the Metal Mania festival 2006 in Poland, the Wacken Open Air festival in 2006 in Germany and the main DVD show recorded at the Zeche in Bochum, Germany on October 11, 2006. Bonus material includes two songs from Century Media USA 10th Anniversary Party 2001, all promo videos and an interview with singer Warrel Dane which was recorded at the Roax Film Studios in Berlin in the spring of 2008.

"Today (Friday 29th May) we're are proud to announce the imminent launch of the brand new single "Last Took At Eden" - the title track from the forthcoming album.
Released as a 3-track single and limited edition 5-track digipack, you will be able to order online via the band's official website. Nordic fans will also have the opportunity to pre-order the official "Almost Unplugged" DVD, recorded and re-edited live at Nalen in Stockholm.

"After long days of negotiations and preparations hereby we would like to announce "Funeral Nation Tour 2009"- a co-headlining European tour of two well known metal monsters Vader and Marduk. It's going to be a special event for all black and death metal freaks the more so because the tour will promote bands' newest full length albums. Vader is ready to unleash hell with their brand new monster "Necropolis" (to be out in August 21 through Nuclear Blast) while Marduk is working on a new opus for Regain Records. Be prepared for a massive panzer attack, ashes, burning ground and total destruction. Fifth Rabarock Is Only A Week Away
Fifth Rabarock is only a week away. Last year's edition was the meeting point for 12 000 people. This year's edition on June 12th and 13th will probably see even more. 2 days, 2 stages, 18 bands for various tastes. Among others you'll find such local bands as Pedigree, Metsatöll, No-Big-Silence. However, the real treat will be Static-X, Anthrax and KMFDM. The kick off is on Friday at 15:15 when the first band will hit the stage. The tickets are still available for about 50 EUR. For those who will not have enough of the scheduled program, night club will be open on both nights of the festival with additional bands performing for about 6-8 EUR.
For those who have not yet acquired the ticket there is still a chance to win the pass in SMS drawing. Just send SMS to number 1512 containing text RABAROCK your name age (for example RABAROCK Peeter Soo 25). The winner will be announced on June 12th. In addition, all senders will participate in the drawing to win the full package for two to Ruisrock festival by Wris Tours. The drawing will be held after the festival on June 14th. Unfortunately this SMS game is for Estonian numbers only.
