70000 Tons Of Metal 2013 - First Bands Announced
The organizers of 70000 Tons Of Metal 2013 have announced the first 10 bands that will take part in next year's floating heavy metal festival.
Already confirmed for the festival extravaganza are: In Flames, Nile, Sabaton, Lacuna Coil, Immolation, Doro, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Helstar, Subway To Sally and Anacrusis.
The festival will take place from January 28th-February 1st 2013 aboard the luxury cruise ship Royal Caribbean "Majesty Of The Seas" that will sail from Miami, Florida, and will feature 40 bands. What is the difference between this and Barge to Hell? Both events are organized by the same people and are happening on the same cruise, at the same time of the year and with no apparent difference other than the bands. The only thing I've noticed is how the bands featured on Barge to Hell tend to be more extreme.

BTH is mostly "extreme", so your death, black, doom, etc and 70000 Tons caters for a more eclectic metal fan who likes all sub-genres of metal. I was on 2011 and 2012 70000 Tons and there were rumours that UMC are going to have four cruises going at some stage.
