Gates Of Ishtar - Drummer Oskar Karlsson Passes
The Swedish and Luleå scene has lost drummer Oskar Karlsson, who died yesterday. He was involved in bands such as Defleshed, Raised Fist, Gates Of Ishtar, Helltrain, The Everdawn, and The Duskfall and was 39.
The Duskfall main man Mikael Sandorf posted the news: "With heavy hearts we have to let you all know that our dear friend and long time ex-drummer of The Duskfall Oscar has passed away. Tomorrow's show is going to be dedicated to him. Our biggest condolences to the family. Keep the heavy beat going on the other side for us Oscar...until we jam again! With huge respects."
Gates Of Ishtar have also stated: "It is with much sadness and regret that we have learned that our drummer and friend Oscar Karlsson has passed away at the age of 39. Words cannot express how we feel. Oscar was a fantastic human being and a great friend and he will be dearly missed."

I'm sad to read these news. I have close childhood friends who were close to Oskar. The Luleå/Boden metal scene in the north of Sweden have never (for obvious reasons) been really big, and Oskar figured on that scene if not close to me personally. Satariel is my close friends from my childhood and some of the most certainly know Oskar. I'm the same age as Oskar and I assume it was cancer. Your passing will not go unnoticed, RIP Oskar.

Sad to hear that he died at such a young age (younger than I am actually). I really liked his drumming in Gates Of Ishtar. Good luck in the afterlife.
