Of these options, I hope Body Count wins.
Metallica will likely win the rock category.

Body Count is literally the worst metal band i've ever heard in my life. That said, none of the other songs are great either. 'Sultan's Curse' is okay but not my favorite from Emperor of Sand. 'Invisible Enemy' is a very forgettable track. I really like Code Orange's 'Bleeding in the Blur' from the same album but i'm not a fan of 'Forever' at all. Haven't heard Meshuggah's song, i'll have to look that up.

Soo as of right now, kinda hoping Sultan's Curse wins.

For Best Rock Album...... Guess i'm okay with Metallica or Mastodon if those are the options. Nothing More's album has its moments too, but i'm bias towards the heavier stuff. lol

Just not my cup of tea I guess. I've only heard their new album. I'd rather turn to the country channel then listen to that awful No Lives Matter song on the radio again.

The fun thing about posting news of Grammy on MS is comments section. Every year we ought to get 7-10 angry comments bashing nominations of Grammy.

Must be nice to live somewhere where ANY metal gets played on the radio (besides a pair of Black Album Metallica songs)

Well, standard radio stations don't play any metal but SiriusXM has the channel Liquid Metal. Its pretty cool but expensive as fuck!

This would result in much better nominations. At least, it would cut the crap of noms of mainstream bands.

I have never heard August Burns Red and Code Orange, so can't Judge for them. That's why I said "almost all". The rest of the nominees are certainly metal.

August Burns Red is the only one I have never heard here, but I would assume they were metal. Code Orange is like metalcore (metal+hardcore), so they should count. August Burns Red is said to be technical metalcore..

Yeah. Code Orange plays a nasty mix of hardcore and post-hardcore, August Burns Red is most times proper metalcore which some touches of deathcore here and there. Definitely fits better in that category than in the soul category.

I can't understand metalheads. No one fusses when there's a techno beat in a rap song and it gets tossed in the rap section still. It's a big award, they're gonna toss the few fringe extreme bands together even if they don't sounds completely similar, how else would they proceed?

I don't know why I do this to myself every year. I know the grammys are a steaming shitheap, and I know any good bands they nominate are purely coincidental, and that looking at their nominees will only upset me, yet every year curiosity takes over and I have to know.

As much as I too would like to laugh at the comments, my inner dialogue is sadly not too different from the most bitchy, histrionic comments. The grammys, for some reason I can't explain, irritate me on some irrational, juvenile level. It might have something to do with the Metallica ass-kissing.
