Well, congrats. However, winning a Grammy is not exactly a reason to become extra interested

Jethro Tull won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.

Maybe people should start getting over that one.

I know the people that decide the grammy for things like best metal performance have probably never even heard of most of these bands, but its still cool to be able to say that a metal band you really like has won a grammy for something. I think it means more when it comes from the award comes from the metal community but still congrats to mastodon.

I just think it's funny that they were nominated for CTS years ago and didn't win but Emperor Of Sand wins. Just shows how utter shit the Grammy's are.

How ironic that the same guys who got kicked out of the grammys due to bad behavior a couple years ago now are the winners

Haven't paid close attention to this year, don't care, but did see a pic the band posted on their Facebook feed... with no Brent Hinds. he was the prime troublemaker.

Same here. Once More Round the Sun wasn't worth the time that I dedicated towards it. So that took out any hope I had for their latest effort.

I'd say it's fairly good. I prefer Once More Round The Sun though. I'd probably tie it with The Hunter as their worst album, so if you didn't hate any of their previous albums it's worth checking out.

Of course they've won it, cause this band is most easy to chewed by most of people.
