American speed metallers Impaler have announced that their former bassist from 1994-2004, Erik Allyn, has died after a battle with cancer. The band has also decided to honor Erick on their September 1st show. He played on four Impaler albums and appears on both DVDs.

The band said: "Erick Mitchell - April 5, 1962-June 28, 2018. It is with my sad heart I pass on the news from Erick's Mom that Erick passed peacefully this morning. The world has lost a kind, loving, and rocking man today. I love you brother!"
