Converge - Announce Collaborative Album With Chelsea Wolfe, Steve Brodsky

Converge have teamed up with Chelsea Wolfe, Wolfe's bandmate Ben Chisholm, and vocalist / guitarist Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Mutoid Man, Old Man Gloom) for the release of their collaborative debut full-length. Dubbed Bloodmoon: I, it will see the light on November 19th via Epitaph Records. The outing was recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, MA. Mastered by Magnus Lindberg. If you are curious about this new offering, do not hesitate and check out an official video clip for the opening track "Blood Moon".

The above-mentioned musicians already performed together live at 2016's Roadburn Festival for a handful of exclusive sets.

Pre-orders available at this location.

Wasn't Bloodmoon the set they played at Roadburn 2016? I guess it will be based off that? I remember Chelsea Wolfe was involved back then as well.

Yep it was; I have a very vague memory of that set, like the general vibe of it but none of the contents. Sounds like this is adapted from that collaboration rather than being an exact recording of it I guess? not sure on that though

To be completely honest, I'm not even a 100% sure I saw that set... I am pretty sure I did because why wouldn't I go? Definitely no specifics.

That is the impression I got as well.

The single sound really good remind me a little of Cult Of Luna & Julie Christmas / Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou. I will check that for sure.

I think I only caught like half the Roadburn set. It was supposed to be a Converge's set that consisted exclusively of the band's slower, more experimental tracks. I was mostly interested in hearing the songs "Cruel Bloom" and "Wretched World", which are among my very top Converge songs. Once those songs played I went for another set I believe. Still really interested in hearing this. The vocals work together perfectly and I must say they do work better than the Thou / Emma Ruth Rundle combo from last year.

It's wild the range that Converge has. Just saw them play Jane Doe in its entirety this past weekend and then listening to something like this is just wild. One of the few bands that really grows and experiments and still manages to make magic.
