Amulance - Former Drummer Died

American power metal bringers Amulance confirmed that their former drummer, Ken Comer, has passed away. He was the original band drummer and also contributed his share by recording a few tunes on the group's last record, Unleash The Beast.

Vocalist Rik Baez comments: "I'm at a loss for words... I was at Bob Luman's this past Friday and seconds away from asking if Ken was going to be stopping by when Bob told me that Ken had passed away earlier that day. We don't have any information other than that he was found unresponsive in his home.

"To say that Ken was an amazing musician would be an understatement, as he played guitar, bass, keyboards AND drums. I'm not sure if he played other instruments, these are just what I'm aware of. Ken had been asked to join Amulance as our drummer and although he had recorded half the tracks for Unleash The Beast and would jam regularly at Bob's, he didn't want to deal with the stress of live shows.

"I got to know Ken better in this past decade. He was almost always at our rehearsals. We would hang out in Bob's kitchen on Friday nights listening to recordings of their previous week's jam session and other bands. We would discuss the music scene, current events, random off-the-wall topics and we had a lot of laughs. I'm not sure when these pics were taken, but these were in Bob's kitchen and it's how I remember Ken. My heart goes out to his family. Rest in Peace brother, you will be missed.

Guitarist Robert Luman says: ''Sad day music friends. Ken Comer passed away peacefully at home yesterday afternoon 11/19/21. His health had been deteriorating noticeably for the past couple months.

"Ken is known mostly as a drummer, but also played guitar, bass and keys. Ken collected vintage drum sets, Stratocasters, SG's, keyboards and tube amps. Ken was innovative and original in his approach to all these instruments. As a drummer Ken loved Bill Ward, John Bonham, Cozy Powell, Nick Mason, Terry Bozio among others.

"Ken was the original drummer for the 1st inception of the band Amulance and recorded several drum tracks on our last CD. Kens other bands include, but are not limited to Who Cares, Liquid Sky, punk band Noxious Few, and death metal band Cursed Existence, and couple cover bands.

"For the past decade Ken has been playing in a weekend jam band consisting of Ken on drums, myself on guitar and Chuck Hamilton on bass. Sometimes other characters would show up and Ken would switch instruments. Ken recorded every session we ever did, so we have shit tons of improvised music. RIP Kenny, you will be missed''
