Sunwheel evokes thought of the scottish bagpipe... anyone agree?

The album that got me into Drudkh. This is black metal of the "classic" mould with a good amount of atmospherics.

@Ag Fox: yes i always thought that guitar line was just like a bagpipe sound. This album is an atmospheric classic. The atmosphere on the album is so thick and it just sucks me in. Its like they took Burzum influences, added in their own unique style with great leads, and folk influences. Out of the 4 I've heard by them this one is by far the best.

Amazing albums! I've never liked black metal, but I'm changing my mind, thanks to this. Highly atmospheric, the way I like it, with good production.

You see the last track here? It's almost 9 minutes of the same riff, yet it's never boring. This is proof of how atmospheric this is.

This album is absolutely fantastic. At least a 9.4 in my book.

Holy shit, I just realized that this album was released on the exact day of my 13th birthday.

I was born in a small village in the middle of the woods. I grow up there and here it comes - though it has the best sound of Drudkh alboms it is totally wrong. It is not autumn. It is the midsummer heat-dazed forest, with the feverish hot air humming in the trees and birds holding down their song due to the high season of their eggs hatching. The autumn atmosphere they want to catch is MUCH,REALLY MUCH harder to catch, they tried - and failed. Some other bands have that, but not Drudkh. And with their muted riffs they never can. Autumn is sharp. Sharp colours, sharp scents, sharper air. I should know. Parks have a bit mellower version of that,birds in park sing more actively, so best it can have is a really rain-dulled park atmosphere. But in spite of that still nice job.

One of my favourite albums....such a raw feel...such raw vocals...pure epicness!!!!

Cornerstone of atmospheric black metal. This album belongs to history.

Great album. Like the previous, The atmosphere is totally amazing. But the outro is too fucking long. And something is missing, something that only Forgotten Legends has.

Checking The Swan Road now.

Edit: I was wrong. This album is just as good as the previous one.

What a fantastic album, I couldn't get my head around Sunwheel the first couple of times but it seems it has grown on me now. Last track is dragging a little IMO, but I guess I can live with it, as the rest is so friggin amazing..! Now I have to chose whether to buy the original one for a higher price or the re-issue digipak for less..

The first time I listened to this was ages back. Probably would be second serious bm album after In The Woods' debut. This is just mezmeringly beautiful and haunting. Sunwheel is just incredibly evocative of something, some feeling of being lost.

I had a great music-listening experience with this album. One day about a year and a half ago I just looked outside and listened to it after having it on my iPod for months and after the album was finished, I was mesmerized, and I just played it again, I was speechless, even though there was no one to talk to about it. Absolutely blew my mind.

As good as Forgotten Legends. fantastic atmosphere, even the 90 seconds intro is awesome, that´s how good this album is.

A classic atmospheric black metal album, if your a fan of the genre then this is simply a must have. The soundscspes are absolutely stunning and listening to this takes you on a real journey capturing the changing seasons of autumn to winter, you can imagine yourself walking through a cold enchanted forest in autumn.

The sunwheel is one of my favourite songs ever, it's so majestic, melodic and hypnotic and stands out differently from the rest of the album.

Sunwheel transcends.

Masterpiece!!
