I still haven't properly listened to this yet, but it has Igorrr, one of the best artists in the history of everything, in the band so it must be good stuff.

Amen to that. After listening to both bands, I think Igorrr > Oxxo Xoox.

I've been listening to Igorrr's solo(?) stuff on youtube and it's utterly amazing, that guy is a genius.

I overlooked this band because of their Gothic tag. Should try it if Igorrr had had any contribution here.

I find it odd how people consider this album worse than his solo stuff. His solo stuff are average to good at best (maybe only Whourkr's Concrete being better). This one though is like from a totaly different dimension. A kind of gothic/doom album that I never encountered before. Not unique, but with a high degree of originality. Gothic metal has been a static genre for way too long so I am glad that there are artists willing to venture into experimental territories.

I don't find it odd at all. People who like Igorrr probably appreciate bizarre, wacky and experimental music. Öxxö Xööx is really only anything of these things from an aesthetic point of view. Musically it's mildly unusual at best (albeit maybe more so from the "gothic" genre but from outside of it it's not exactly avant-garde). Personally I never found much to like with this project, the "weird" aspects are more cosmetic than anything and overall it's just not very interesting outside of the whole alien language thing.

I listened to his other works but I did not find anything great, other than this album. It does not feel like something on the surface, the whole bizare thing going on, it feels just natural. I was not impressed by the language though, more like a secondary aspect that I ignored when I listened to this, but the music mesmerized me. It is a kind of interpretation of gothic metal that I did not encounter until now. So yeah, I might by biased but even after 3 years it still sounds fresh to me. I am not a fan of Igorrr, far from being one, and I have mixed feelings about his other works with the exception of Whourkr, but I do like this one which is probably his first work that really got me hooked up.
