Absu - New Album Update, New Tour Dates

In case you were wondering about Absu's new album Apsu, the band is currently in the composition/arrangement process. The American metallers also announced today details about their upcoming tour, titled North American Connexus Continuation. The ten-city tour will see the band perform a complete set with music spanning throughout their career. This excursion is a follow-up mini-tour to North American Connexus Conjuration from earlier this year. You can see the new dates below.

Vocalist/drummer Proscriptor shares: "We have begun the composition/arrangement process for the next album, suitably titled Apsu, which is the Sumerian-Akkadian spelling of the band moniker. We shall wait until the new album is released before we present any of the new material in a live atmosphere."

Wait, Absu in 2009, AbZu in 2011, and now APsu?? that doesn't seem very creative, and I can predict that the music won't be so different. How disappointing, I really liked this band

Right, because how good the music is is always intrinsically related to the album name isn't it.

Thematically Absu are one of the more interesting blackened thrash bands, and musically they tend to deliver. If you want to get disappointed over an album you've not heard a single piece of music of then that's of course your prerogative.

It's the last part of a trilogy, so it only makes sense to stick with album-naming concept; lazy as it is...

I was actually wondering how they would spell Absu on this one
