Their last album was crazy but enjoyable. Hoping this will be in a similar style. None of the new singles have grabbed me yet, but they might be growers.

I am loving this record. Maybe it's been too long since RM, but this could be my favourite record this year. Not the best, but my favourite.

Fewer memorable moments than their last album. This one is still great but the songs lack distinctiveness.

Another incredible album by one of my absolute favorite bands, I saw Archspire at their first show in LA, they were literally at a fucking pizza parlor. Might be a ten, needs some more listens
I believe the prophecy will soon be fulfilled with arguably my three favorite bands all releasing their pandemic albums on the exact same day, and all being in the top three of metalstorm ( Archspire, First Fragment, Be'lakor)
Addendum: The prophecy was, at least briefly, fulfilled on 11/2/21 at 8:28AM PST

Agreed. The singles are pretty distinctive, but other than that it's kinda a blur. This is their weakest album for me, even when including the debut.

A notch below perfection for their style but showing no signs of slowing down. About as good as a tech death album can be in its current state.

Love this album. Wish there was more.
Reverie On The Onyx is a masterpiece. Loosely based on Mozart's Requiem in Dm, Lacrimosa this may well be the definitive song of the genre next time someone asks me just what is technical death metal anyway. (Don't know if it will help them understand why anyone in their right mind would want to listen to it though .

You may just have to give it a couple more spins. I kinda thought the same on my very first listen which in hindsight was not a suprise since my expectation were gigantic.
After a few more listens this is clearly still a masterpiece in it's own right especially compared to what the rest of the tech death scene has to offer. I'll say that it is ever so slightly less impactful than Relentless Mutation but every single song is still a banger and incredibly well written, melodic and just pure fun to listen to.
Really the only thing that I actively dislike is that pointless voice message at the start of the last song. I have no idea what they were thinking with that one.

Yeah, would've been better if the album ended with it instead of it breaking the flow. Or just scrap it altogether.

I'm not a tech death fan at all, but this album is really amazing. You can hear some music other than pure non stop technics. And although First Fragment's album sounds (and only sounds, because I can't judge their technicality when I cannot play even one of their riffs or solos unless I turn the metronome 2000 beeps down) more technical, but this album was more enjoyable for me.

I've listened to metal and plenty of death metal over the past 18 years but could never break into technical death metal. This was the album that did it for me. I FUCKING LOVE IT!

I really did not like this album. I kinda liked the prog-tech aspect of the music but the vocals totally ruined it for me. Never found myself even wanting to give it a second listen.

This is terrible
Standard soulless tech death with some of the most unfitting and lazy vocals out there.

Box standard technical death metal for me, nothing special, just ultra fast and complex, but lacking melody, and I didn't like the harsh rapping style vocals.

So I decided to give this a shot to see if I am able to enjoy tech death at all. Seems like excluding the more avanrgardish approaches (likes of pyrrhon, uclerate etc), there is not much left in the genre for me. This is a highly regarded tech death album, and yet I cant get past 5 mins without being bored as fuck.
This might be a product of my taste evolving towards the more "atmospheric" sounds.
