Whats the one metal song that pretty much just sums up the genre and how you feel about it for you? The song that speaks to you most about what this genre is all about. Basically like your metal theme song. A song that is like your metal soundtrack. I know for me it is definitely Brothers of Metal by Manowar. I don't think any other song could do a better job of explaining how I feel about metal. Cheesy? Maybe a little but I bet a lot of you have one! So go ahead and list it; Id love to know

This is a difficult question to answer and I've had very deep thoughts about this particular topic :p

If anything, it would be tied between a few: Moonspell's "Opium" (for the obvious reason ), Slayer's "Raining Blood", Sacred Reich's "Death Squad" or Sepultura's "Arise". The others named here are songs which more or less get me pumped, the rush I gain from the last 3 songs named is lije nothing else on this planet, a good source of motivation and guaranteed to get me in a good mood

The song that sums up what I feel when I listen to the genre is best described in Metallica's Motorbreath. That feeling of making every day count. Live in the fast lane. Carpe Diem basically. That's how I feel when I listen to metal.

Arch Enemy's "Anthem"....because it's called Anthem...and it's short and glorious...lol....
Nah that was a joke....don't expect me to pick an anthem....I may imagine some songs being passionate and deep and carrying all the positive hope bout future or sth like that in their message....Tyr's "Ragnarök" or Elvenking's "Seasonspeech" or "Poem For the Firmament" or then again "Meadows Of Heaven" and "Ghost Love Score" by Nightwish....

Or you can think of a song such as Turmion Kätilöt "Pirun Nyrkki" which isn't exactly suitable for an anthem but if you dedicate all your life to kicking arses and running around on some wild killing-spree then have it as you wish.....then it could be your "soundtrack"...........

Mine would have to be 'In Union We Stand' by Overkill. Either that or 'Metalized Blood' by Desaster.

'Tricycles of Steel' by Nanowar of Steel sums up the subculture nicely and swells my chest with pride each time i hear it.

'Running Wild In The Streets' by WASP. It sums up that gang mentality that alot of us like to feel, but at the same time makes you feel like your some sort of special leader (cheesey sounding I know...) with lyrics like: "Im runnin to beat hell/looks like i got to be the leader/as my forces yell/you can hear em/cant you hear em?". Not to mention its my favorite song of all time.

Hmm, here's a tough one. Augen Auf by Oomph sums up my life philosophy ("Everything must be hidden - i.e. everyone's a phony), and Hymn by Vangelis that's gonna be the anthem of my Empire Just joking. And yeah, "Fear of the dark" can be added, it somehow shows a kind of unity, when people sing it and all...

Pretty tough question, although for me it would probably be Saxon's Denim and Leather or Anvil's Metal on Metal. Yes, both songs are slightly cheesy, but then again most metal anthems tend to be so. Both songs have very catchy choruses and are rather simplistic, however that is what makes them so good in my opinion.

The song that I feel most galvanised upon hearing is probably "Battle Hymn" by Manowar. It's definitely my "anthem", even though it's not my favourite song.

Jag Panzer - Licensed to Kill (or actually anything from Ample Destruction)
Metal-attitude at its best, this album is the definition of what metal is really about (for me that is).

Hmm...i have to say...it have to be "Helloween - I Want Out" - That song it's a moodswing for me and everybody knows me by that song so it's my anthem

"Carnivorous Obssession" by Demolition Hammer (death/thrash amazingness) sums up metal for me. Such brutality...such nobility...such a song...such a band.

Darkthrone - In Honour of Thy Name

My anthem is Metallica's Bleeding Me for the representation of lyrics it has. My eternal struggle of keeping off drugs, and the song keeps constant reminder thats it not worth it. It makes me feel very complete inside when i listen to it.
