Yeah, I've heard the demo too. Pretty good stuff, and a different Nile for sure.

If you actually read the thread you'd know that we are well aware of that. Plus, this happens all the time. Something like 90% or more of the so called "mainstream" albums leak before the official release date. Mainstream meaning non-underground bands.

yea, I noticed it; actually I'm not used to hearing about the 'leakage' of albums... and I found it funny!

I saw these legends in Sacramento, CA around a year ago. They were with Hypocrisy and Decapitated among other bands. Awesome show, the place was so packed there wasn't even a pit by the time Nile started their set.

I was just wondering if anyone knew how much drum work Derek Roddy actually did on 'Black Seeds of Vengeance.' I've read he did the whole album, and I've read he's contributed small amounts. I'm really unsure. I could believe he did it all as the drum work is pretty insane, but Pete was an amazing drummer too, so I couldn't say.

I of course enjoy the new album so far. As has been read, it really is more of the same, but coming from Nile, I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. I would of like to see a bit more progression though. I also really wish Karl would have done more vocal work. I was also missing all of Karl's song explanations in the booklet. However, you can't have everything. So far, so good.

I got their new album in my hands three days ago. Since then ive been listening new album from start to finish like 15 times. Its pretty much the most straight forward, or should i say the least epic piece from them since their first album, imo. Still, its pretty solid with couple real killer tracks, and im sure 90% of old Nile fans will appreciate this. Anyways, for me the new album was a sligh dissapointment. And Karl, please, put some explanations for the songs next time, those simply rock .

Nile is truly one of my favorite bands, i like how they mix brutal death with a bit of egyptian music in there, it makes them stand out from the pack for sure. Although i havent listened to much of their older stuff cause i only own ITDS, AOTW and Ithyphallic. All of the aforementioned are great, but on annihilation the production is a little sloppy, you cant hear the drums as much. I have to say that their new album totally kicks ass, great production, great songs, but their most straightforward recording.

I think that theres some sort of progression in their new album, besides their production being cleaner. They sound more straight forward than before, which isnt a bad thing, just different. Also i think this time around their songs might be a little more varied and tighter as far as the instruments go together.

I was pissed when I went to best buy to find they didn't have it yet. Though I did get the new King Diamond album.

The new Nile album also impressed me. On only one listen, I think I can say that this album has the best riffing and it's especially noticeable on the last two instrumental versions. I don't know how to rank this album among their others though...it's probably somewhere in the middle or so.

Amazing, just amazing. After some minutes, I nearly got hypnotized by the quick moves of his arms. I will not listen Ithyphallic as I used to do anymore. To be honest, I didn't like it as much as I liked the previous albums. But it is still a good one.
Videos, whatever they might be, live, or clips, always have a great impact on the way I apreciate music. For once, I will like the music more, after watching a video.

I never realized Karl had such mannerisms, it obviously brings a much more human side to him. Very cool interview and videos.

I just started listening to Nile. I picked up Ithyphallic, and it's really good. Saw Nile at Ozzfest, and they tore it up. Very good death metal band. Classic.

Pick up In Their Darkened Shrines. As much as Ithyphallic is awesome, ITDS still can't be beat. I think it's because of the atmosphere it has. Like on 'Unas Slayer of the Gods' and 'Ruins.' So epic and brutal.

Same thing happened to me, I listened to Ithyphallic and liked it and now I decided to listen to In their darkened shrines since a lot of people tell me that is a fabulous album. If i like it I might go to "Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka" as well, which I am very curious about, I read that it is very good. So far so good.

Haven't listen Nile yet much, except Ithyphallic, which I got as a birthday present from my beloved metalhead friend today + some music videos. May he be blessed by Amon. Ithyphallic isn't obviously even the best of their's and even it manages to kick ass. They got huge potential and originality (Well the idea of mixing ancient Egypt and metal was already experimented at early 80's by a finnish heavy metal band {refering to Sarcophagus}). I think they'll gain some special place in my hard metallic hearth after some more listening. Some great Death/Egyptian metal stuff .

Gonna see them at Tampere next month. Hope I won't spend all my time in a moshpit, I would want to film some video footage of them also and spear some money by not buying their DVD

I started listening to nile in about 2003. There music is unique. I did find that my interest in thier sound waned quickly. In my opinion, there is not much variation, but you could level that same criticism at most bands. NIle are the best at what they do, it is just that after a while I feel completely pulverized and need a break. I wonder how well they can reporduce their sound live?
