Is there any way to customize the kinds of updates I get? Because I'm tired of getting these half baked, incoherent topics from other users mixed with updates from the bands in my watched bands. I'd give an example of said topics but i deleted them all yesterday out of frustration.

i get this. i chewed someone out other day for tagging a useless topic with like 10 popular bands spread across multiple genres in an effort to draw his thread traffic. i have started discussion on it, and i agree 100%. i want band updates.

if, say, i get an update as a Darkthrone fan because someone tagged a thread about Sarke with the DT tag because Nocturno Culto sings for that band, i can cope.

but a post that has nothing to do with anything except it involves some half-ass project that makes shitty black metal trying to clone DarkThrone and pimp themselves by using that tag in a thread... no way. never mind stuff like the Blues Clues thread i referenced earlier. that has nothing to do remotely with the bands tagged.

so consider this in progress with the bitter, angry, old guy agreeing with your stance.

Make sure you select the image you want to use from your computer by using the browse function for the Signature Image Upload.
Make sure your image meets the requirements listed (Max. size: 468x60, max. file size 20Kb.)
Insert [ image ] (without the spaces between the square brackets) into your signature.
Refresh the page if you don't see immediate results.

Try CTRL+F5 if that still doesn't work. It reloads the page, skipping cached items.

I have several questions concerning the validation !

First, when someone add an album and write the line-up into the additional info. What should I do ? Keep it or delete it ? Is it not the job of the timeline ?
Them, should I valide or delete the lyrics for a single if they are already available for the album ?

Keep the line-up in the additional info if it's presented. While that's the purpose of the timeline, it's handy to have that information presented on the album's page.

And there is no need to delete the lyrics for a single just because they are already added to another release. Again, it's a matter of convenience.

I'm looking for a (death metal..?) song I once heard in a club, and all I can do is describe it. That may sound a little crazy, but you''ll know what I'm talking about in case you know that song. It may be more one of a parody kind, so I have been looking for bands like german Debauchery, but without success.

The song starts with a mid-tempo, "old school" doom riff which builds up an instrumental part for some time. It was kind of confusing at first, because it totally did not fit into their usual playlist... then suddenly, all instruments stop playing, and the singer makes a sound that - my friends and me agreed on that - can best be descibed as a 'grunting pig' - and then it burts out into brutal death metal with deep growled vocals. Finally, after some time, it starts all over again.

The whole 'grunting' thing, and the transition from that slow section to extreme metal sounds to exaggerated that we almost fell off the bench we were sitting on from laughing... just to explain while I need to listen to it again . Thanks in advance for any help on my search!

I realized after this thread is for quick questions about the site itself. You're current thread is fine though - I just doubt many people will be able to help (which is why I sent you here in the first place).

This is probably a stupid question but here goes...
When I go to the forum index it says that ,for example, the Musicians corner was last posted in today at 23:02, but the current time here is 17:53, and all other times display normaly.
Is this some kind of bug, or what... ?

Current time =/= server time. The server is based in Estonia. That took me a while to get since I'm here in Canada, which is...what 7 or 8 hours behind?

Thanks, I tend to be slightly obsessive-compulsive when it comes to time (among other things ) so it kinda stands out.

There's actually an option in your account settings where you can configure your offset to GMT+2. For me in Germany it's a mere matter of setting that to -1.

Isn't there a button like "mark all as read" or something like that?!
