This is my least favorite of LOG.
I think Ashes... spoiled me and I expected better.
I gave it a 6, I would like to give it a 6.5

I really liked this album so it gets the same rating as 'Ashes of the Wake' a 9.

Aside from some of the riffs being a tad repetitive, this album is pretty damn good. I know the band attempted to make everything sound grandiose and epic (production-wise i mean), but their songwriting never fails to impress.

Walk With Me In Hell and Redneck are just perfect. The rest of the album is pretty good too.

Well, I didn't get the meaning behind Redneck. It has always be one of the best song LoG recorded. Some says it was pure dig on Phil(Pantera) while "Terrorizer" mag says "guys were drunk and sat in house and thumped down lines after lines in no order". It's bit confusing.
I don't know my pad just swung this song and then this thought just went by...,

My impression for Redneck was that it was written about Westboro Baptist, or just degenerative religious authorities in general, especially in the south.
I like this album, not as much as AotW, but it's still pretty good. Love Blacken The Cursed Sun, Walk With Me In Hell and Pathetic.

Does the meaning matter? I think it's just a great little tune with a very catchy chorus.
In my case, I catch the lyrics easily.
It's my personal favorite song from LoG catalogue. But, whenever this song pops up, I feel lyric is pretty much disjointed if meaning of song goes by. I feel like there is no connection of head and toe to be honest. Yeah, video is fun.
That video depicts the real struggle of Lamb Of God when they were searching for good labels. Initially, they started with "Metal" band close to 1996 but people starting calling them "Punk Metal" band. So, they registered with local record store called "Book Your Own Fucking Life"(which had telephone numbers and addresses of kids around the US) that would promote or host small shows or parties or punk rock matinees. Thus, they made a little demo tape and started sending out hundreds, thousands of demo tapes in the mail to see these people and asking them to invite LoG and perform for few bucks or reputation, you know.
Therefore, they depicted the struggle of 90's in "Redneck" video.

This album is excellent, especially the initial 4 songs, they're just so brilliant, dirty, catchy and heavy.

As much as I love 'Ashes of the Wake', this is better. Easily their best record.

Randy’s vocal delivery is horrible. It sounds like he’s trying to scream with a mouthful of peanut butter. I know I’m in the minority for sure in thinking that, but it’s a total deterrent to an otherwise great band.

Bruh that’s like every extreme vocalist ever. And most rappers. And the occasional blues singer.

Definitely, but I notice it a lot more with Randy. He over enunciates his oh and R sounds. I think they layer his vocals multiple times in sections that brings this even more forward. Sometimes I think he sounds like metal Rick Ta Life
Not on this album, but the chorus/main line of "Now You've Got Something To Die For" showcases what I'm talking about pretty obviously. His terrible lyrics don't help him either.

I like Randy’s vocals. They got a lot of OOMPH and definitely helped the band stand out amongst others apeing the Pantera style at the time.
This album has always been a meh piece, anyway. Ashes of the Wake and As The Palaces Burn are way better. Less immature lyrics as well, though I'm pretty sure the lyric writing is shared amongst the band as a whole. Could be entirely wrong tho.
