I have a question about the new album: does Karl utilize his vocals at all or not? That's one thing I found very disappointing about their last release, was that it was all Dallas and no Karl. Don't get me wrong, Dallas' vocals are great, but I love it when they have a good mix of vocals styles. I listened to "Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld"on their myspace and there weren't any of Karl's vocals to be found, to my ear. Can anyone help answer my question? Thank you.

Karl does some vocals on at least 1 track off the top of my head.

The new album sucks so bad worst vocals I've ever heard the only good thing about it is the production. It sounds like a watered down version of Ithyphalic with a failed attempt to bring back there old ambient elements. The only thing that keeps improving with Nile is there drumming unfortantly for them though that means nothing if everything else is boring as shit.

Honestly I loved the new album. I don't mind if they changed their style that much because to me it still sounds great and Nile-ish. The only song on the new album I didn't like was Kafir! but the rest is really good. I honestly didn't like Ithyphallic much at all, only like 2 songs. This album seems like a big improvement to me from their last album.
And was it just me or did Ithyphallic sound like it was recorded bad or something? I can't stand listening to it with headphones.

I'm getting the new album in the mail on Friday. Excited would be an understatement. Since Annihilation of the Wicked is the first death metal album I heard, Nile remains the band with which I compare nearly all of the death metal bands I know.

I'm waiting for the album in the mail as well- another week or so. I've heard "Those Whom..." in it's entirety already and absolutely love it. I am so pumped to see them in January here in Baltimore... FINALLY. One of my favorite death metal bands.

I´ve been a Nile fan for years, Amongst The Catacombs of Nephren-Ka was the first album I got and ´till today I consider it a jewel in my collection. Every song in that album is a classic in the genre and IMHO it contributed a lot to the evolution in the DM scene that was much needed.

The next albums I got were Black Seeds Of Vengeance and In Their Darkened Shrines. Both would definitely make my all time top 10, the sound is a little less raw than the previous record and more technical to my ear.

By the time Annihilation Of The Wicked was about to be released I had really high expectations for it, and I admit they were blown away to oblivion. For me ´twas the epitome of the band with such epic songs, they were simply burned in my mind. Needless to say it´s my favorite Nile album, and probably my favorite DM album to the day.

Now, when Ithyphallic came out I ran to my local store and got myself a copy. Although I find it a bit less creative than the previous albums, I still think it´s great and I enjoyed it very much. Specially the song Language Of The Shadows, awesome song and awesome lyrics, one of my favorite songs from the band.

The new album is kind of a disappointment to me, some songs are great but others are just too long, slow paced and boring. The best way to put it would be the review here on Metal Storm:

http://www.metalstorm.ee/pub/review.php?review_id=7310
"Take out the twenty most tedious minutes of this otherwise long death metal album, and we could have been staring at the best album the band have ever put out."

I´d definetily like to see them live, they´re touring Southamerica next year and they´re playing in a couple neighbor countries, so I´ll save all the money I can to go.

I have been waiting some time for Nile to return to my area!
I have been eagerly awaiting the concert next month since I found out about it!
Nile, in my opinion, is the greatest DM band of all and every album is essential in a metal collection, hell, I even have Karls latest solo release!

At the show the other night, people kept yelling, "BRING BACK THE SKUUULLEEET!!", and Dallas kinda laughed it off each time, except the one instance where he said something back about wanting to have sex with the dude's mom lmao.

Nile has issued the following statement about Immolation vocalist Ross Dolan coming to their rescue when their tour bus driver left unexpectedly:

"So what do you do when your bus driver decides to hit the road? (...and not in a good way). Well, this very thing happened this past Saturday when Nile's tour bus driver couldn't make it to the Gallup, NM show due to 'certain circumstances' which caused Nile and their bus to be stranded at some random truck stop in the middle of the desert.

"It just so happens that the Immolation and Krisiun bus was stopped at the same place, and at the same time (weird). So, after a couple of hours of trying to find a solution, all options were exhausted, and Nile's tour manager, Punchy, went to tell the Immolation and Krisiun guys that Nile wasn't going to be able to make it to the show, because we had no available driver.

"Turns out, Ross has a Class B license, and that makes him legal to drive a bus. So, he got out of bed and drove the last four hours to the gig! So what's the moral of the story? If we can work miracles and pull this type of stuff off at the last minute to make it to one of our gigs, then this means that you should have no excuse on why you should miss one of our shows!"

This is truth that the lyrics of nile has taken from the ancient egyptian Book of Dead ?

The new album (Those whom the gods detest) has lyrics that's translated from Koran verses, such as "kafir" and "iskander d'hul karnon"

The lyrics of the track "kafir" are of "sura 1: Al-Fatiha" (and of course the "adhan" prayer-call is played during the guitar solo) and those of "iskander d'hul karnon" a partly from "sura 18: Al-Kahf"
