Question: Kirk Hammett played on the latest K'Naan album and I wanted to add that to his profile, but I am not sure how to. Could someone please help me out?

Do keyboards, pianos and synths count as the same instrument or as separate instruments in musicians profiles?

Separate if necessary.

I got a warning for posting band's lyrics and not translating them, that is just ridiculous.
Tranlsating lyrics is just stupid, it lose it sense and i wonder how many of you translate lyrics of all bands in foreign languages
Why not warn ppl for writting album names of non english band without translating them.
Or band names even?
Maybe I should translate my real life name just in case.

Take it up with the one who warned you instead of posting about it here.

Didn't Sinergy's profile used to be visable?
Also, most sources refer to Sinergy as a Finnish band, but their history strongly implies that the band's origins are actually Swedish. They were formed in Sweden, one of the two founders is Swedish, 3/5ths of the original lineup was Swedish, all members except Alexi Laiho lived in Sweden and I'm pretty sure the 1st album was recorded there, too.
It was after the albums release that Kim Goss moved to Finland and the 3 Swedes were replaced by Finns.
So should the band be counted as Swedish or Finnish?

They did.

Then I looked at the line-up inaccuracies and stripped them.

And it should say Finland and not Sweden. They started in Sweden, ended in Finland. We go by most recent country.

Which bits of the lineup are inacurate? Apart from Lilman leaving in 2001 (he played on the 2002 album, possibly as a session musician though).

According to the profile they split in 2011 (according to an interview it was announced the band was official laid to rest at that point), yet all of the musicians are capped at 2005 at the latest.

Their disbandment was officially confirmed in an interview with Laiho in early 2011, however he didn't specify which year the band broke up.
"I had another band with him before Children of Bodom. It was this thing called Sinergy. It doesn't exist anymore, but I've known the guy for a long time."(talking about Latvala)
No one seems to know when they split- wikipedia says 2004(when their 4th album was supposed to be released) and Metal Archives just says that they've split.
I'd say 05, 06 would be the best guess, unless someone has firsthand info from one of the members.

Unofficial / inaccurate information is the most prominent reason for bands not being activated. If you find an official source that provides the correct break-up date, I'll change the profile accordingly and reactivate it.

I think they fell into the same hole that Virgin Black are in. There's nothing with an official disbandment date, just some things with links to the same interview.
Guess they'll be staying invisible, unless they reform(unlikely, since Goss went back to America).

You mean he's no longer Elite.

You can PM him if you want more info.

There is no minimum amount. Troy adds bands as he see fit. The number of suggestions just helps him to know if it will be worth adding because more votes means more people will hurry up and fill in the bands info to get them activated asap.

Edit: Also the band has to have at least one LP released (a million demos and an EP or 2 don't qualify).

Well if I know the answer then there's no point in making the user wait a few days for a Staff member (who doesn't know how to fix his bunk internet ) to visit the thread and answer their question(s). It doesn't say anywhere at the top that only Staff can answer questions here.

Or any option to hide my points?

Remove your votes to hide your recent favorites.
And as far as I know you can't hide your comm. points unless you're Elite/Staff.

Why all the secrecy?

I know, but I won't delete my votes, I was asking for another solution, but it seems there isn't.
So psykometal is an elite now?

I work for CIA Miami now.

I just noticed that Dimmu Borgir's early lineup might be incorrect. I may be wrong, but didn't Shagrath play drums on For All Tid, with Tjodalv on guitar? Although I think Shagrath played guitar on one song from it (Glittertind) They swapped places for Stormblast. And wasn't Silenoz the vocalist on the first two albums, although both are credited with vocals on Stormblast. And Shagrath also played guitar on Enthrone Darkness Triumphant.
This all seems too fiddly to do on the edits thing, and I don't have a copy of For All Tid to use as a reference.

I don't think you can do that to be honest, not without manually clicking the link to the first page of the thread.

As it stands the only way we'd be able to confirm any of that would be a physical CD with the liner notes or interviews with information.

Off-hand, I have no idea how accurate the profile is. Everything was set up before I even joined the site.

Ok, I'll submit the changes Stormblast has.
Btw, do spoken word parts count as vocals or as something else? And could orchestras be put as guest/session musicians (eg. London Philharmonic Orchestra as a guest or session musicion on Nightwish's last 3 albums)?

Just replace "vocals" with "spoken word" for narrators.

As for the orchestra scenario, I'd just add them in the album section as a featured artist (as in Song Title [feat. X Orchestra]).*

* or add them in the additional info if they're featured on every song
